To purchase tickets, please visit: https://squareup.com/store/valerieottphoto The Photography Gala was created in 2015, to provide an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to give back to their community. The high schoolers are photographed in a unique, themed way and the photographs are displayed at the Gala. The goal is to teach high schoolers to be as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside, by giving back to the community. Each year a different theme is selected, and this year the theme is “Florals. 17 students were photographed and combined with floral images to create works of art. Hours and hours of planning went into the entire theme, and actually photographing each session took approximately 2 to 3 hours. The students involved in the Gala will do everything from sell tickets, choose the organization that benefits from the ticket sales, set up the Gala, plan logistics, to most importantly make their friends and family aware of the great cause the Cancer Families United supports. The photographer and hair and makeup stylist put time and effort into creating an environment for these high school students to look and feel beautiful. But they also show the students that both life and art need to be pushed and stretched in order to grow. They also show that using your gifts and talents to help the community is a win-win for all.

About the Photograph Gala The Photography Gala was created to use photography and styling in a way that both teaches inner beauty and participating in the community in a meaningful way. The theme was Colors and the proceeds benefited CureSMA.org. In 2016, 14 students participated. The theme was Vintage Dolls and the proceeds benefited Abigail Kopf and Tiana Carruthers. In 2017, 20 students participated. The theme was Queen of Everything and the proceeds benefited Gryphon Place. It is with much gratitude we provide special recognition to Brooke DePauw from StellaLuna Events who provided and styled the flowers. And Sarah Major who assisted with all logistics and shooting.
