This article gives you some tips about the concert photo. If you are at the beginning and you do not know the location, it’s good to go early and take some test photos. The biggest nightmare of the concert photographer is light.

Cool Tips for Concert Photography • If you are at the beginning and you do not know the location, it’s good to go early and take some test photos. The biggest nightmare of the concert photographer is light. In clubs and enclosed spaces, the light is weak and if you do not have a full frame, you will have to get up early. • You must shoot most photos in “aperture priority” mode at ISO 3200/1600 and the aperture on f2.8. And the most important thing, always pull in RAW mode in the concert picture, never JPEG. It will be much easier to process your photos later.

Large ISO and high aperture • Because you do not want to get all your photos shuffled and do not understand anything, better climbs ISO to 1600 or 3200 and take still pictures. If the image noise disturbs you, make them black and white. It’s an effect trick in the concert photo. Black-and-white photo looks brighter and image noise contributes to the artistic impression of photography. Then open the lens F to the maximum, F 2.8, F 1.4 or even F 1.2 if you can. • During the concert, move as long as you can. It is true, it is difficult to do this, especially because there are a lot of people paying for the ticket and they do not want to be disturbed by the photographer. You have to be discreet. You do not have to stay more in one place. When you leave, you smile at the back and thank them, because you will return to that place and will not be upset when you do that. • I hope that this advice will be helpful if you want to get the concert photo. I tell you the experience, nothing compares with the feeling you have when you are at a famous concert, and you are closest to the scene, you will feel the energy that the artist conveys. That is the moment when you realize that your efforts have not been in vain. If you get a positive feedback from the artist, you’re on the right track!

Photography in the concert hall

• In the concert hall, we apply some restrictions, usually we can take pictures in front of the stage, do not stand up, you’ll bother the audience in the first few rows. Light is usually good, light is good and priority can be used over time. The lens is chosen depending on where you are, the superangular ones, but also the telephoto lenses, the lens with a normal focal length do very well in situations of this kind. • If you want to have frames as varied as possible, you must always change the angle, progressively covering the whole scene, attempting to create overall frames, but also portraits of the singer or the rest of the band. If you want to photograph the audience, it will be very difficult for you to have no light on it. The moments when light can appear to the audience is the end of the songs. At the end of the songs, the artist interacts with the audience, you can capture unique frames, so be always in the phase.
