RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGETTOEXCEEDTHEREVENUELIMIT FOR NON-RECURRING
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the River Valley School District, Sauk, Iowa, Richland, and Dane Counties, Wisconsin, hereby adopts this resolution entitled: "Resolution Authorizing the School District Budget to Exceed The Revenue Limit for NonRecurring Purposes" to include revenues that exceed the revenue limit set forth in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, within the District's budget for recurring purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Education deems it desirable and in the best interest of the District to exceed the revenue limit set forth in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the River Valley School District Board of Education that the revenues included in the District budget be authorized to exceed the revenue limit specified in Section 121.91, Wisconsin Statutes, by $4,150,000 for the 20252026 school year, by $4,750,000 for the 2026-2027 school year, and by $5,200,000 for the 2027-2028 school year for non-recurring purposes consisting of paying the costs of maintaining educational programs and maintenance of the District.

RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A REFERENDUM ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET TO EXCEED THE REVENUE LIMIT FOR NON-RECURRING PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the Board of Education for the River Valley School District of Sauk, Iowa, Richland, and Dane Counties, Wisconsin, (the "District"), has heretofore duly adopted a resolution entitled: "Resolution Authorizing the School District Budget to Exceed the Revenue Limit for Non-Recurring Purposes" (the "Revenue Limit Resolution"); and
WHEREAS, the Board of Education deems it to be desirable and in the best interest of the District to direct the District Clerk to submit the question in the Revenue Limit Resolution to the electors for approval or rejection at the regularly scheduled election to be held on April 1, 2025.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the River Valley School District Board of Education as follows:
1. Referendum Election Date. The District Clerk is hereby directed to call a referendum election to be held in the District at the regularly scheduled election on April 1, 2025, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of the District the proposition of whether the Revenue Limit Resolution shall be approved or rejected.
2. Election Notices and Supplies. The District Clerk is further directed to prepare all required election notices and provide election officials with all necessary election supplies, including ballots, if and to the extent required by Wis. Stat. § 121.91(3)(c).
3. DPI Notice. Pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 121.91(3)(a), the District Clerk shall notify the Department of Public Instruction of the date of the referendum election and shall provide the Department with a copy of the Revenue Limit Resolution within ten (10) days after its adoption, and shall further certify the results of the referendum to the Department within ten (10) days following the election.
4. Filing of Resolution. The District Clerk is directed to file this Resolution, ballots, and any other necessary election supplies with the official or agency responsible for preparing the ballots for the election no later than seventy (70) days prior to the election on April 1, 2025, as required by Wis. Stats.§§ 121.91(3)(c) and 8.37.
