Dear VCS Friends, Thank you for joining Valley Christian Schools for our 8th Annual Quest Ball and Auction. Each year, this event is the cornerstone of Valley Christian Schools’ annual fundraising work and a beloved tradition. Much has changed in the three years since our last in-person event. What a joy to finally be together! I hope that tonight will be a wonderful time for you to connect more deeply with the mission and vision of Valley Christian Schools and with this community. Whether you are a current family, alumni, friend, or are brand new to VCS, we welcome you and invite you to join us in the Quest for ExcellenceTM.

Tuition funds mission. Philanthropy fuels vision. The vision of VCS is “a world where every student pursues their personal Quest for Excellence.” When you give to Valley Christian Schools, you make an incredible impact for students. Every dollar makes a difference, creates truly exceptional programs and experiences, and directly impacts children at VCS and beyond. As the name suggests, the Quest Ball’s purpose is to fund the programs that make Valley Christian School’s Quest for Excellence a reality. The money raised tonight will go to the WARRIOR FUND, which provides financial support to our A3 curriculum (Academic Achievement, Artistic Beauty, and Athletic Distinction), faculty and staff support, and tuition assistance. Your contributions tonight and throughout the year are the backbone of the quality, Christ-centered education that VCS is able to provide to each and every student. It is the type of education that produces Warriors: tomorrow’s leaders properly equipped to serve God and their family while positively impacting their communities and the world. Thank you for your support. You truly are making a difference, and your help is greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Christi Stockhaus, Director of Advancement

STAND UP FOR VALLEY’S KIDS “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4). This is the opportunity to change a student’s life! An essential function of the WARRIOR FUND, and the Quest Ball that supports it, is raising money for tuition assistance, which is vital for over 400 students each year. Without financial assistance, these students could not attend Valley Christian Schools or benefit from its opportunities. Tuition assistance not only ensures socioeconomic diversity in our schools it also changes lives! Tonight, you will have an opportunity to answer prayers and make it possible for a student to become a Warrior. All funds raised during Stand Up for Valley’s Kids will be earmarked specifically for this program and the students whose lives it will change. Getting involved is simple. When prompted, you will simply stand up to show your support for our students. It is a visual representation of our commitment to these families and the generosity of our community supporting them. All donations are celebrated, as the power of this event is everyone working together to support our students, not just those who are able to donate at the highest levels. Donations start at $100. When the level reaches your desired contribution amount, you simply sit down, and one of our attendants will record your name and bidder number. Every gift makes a difference. You can donate the full amount now or pledge an amount and give monthly over the next year. We hope you will consider how you can give the gift of education and the Quest for Excellence to a student. Everyone can make a difference! Should anyone wish to donate at a level of $30,000 or more, these funds can, at the donor’s option, be used towards the full education costs for one of the students from the local program, Breakthrough Silicon Valley. This local program prepares motivated students with limited educational opportunities for success in rigorous college preparatory high school programs and entry into four-year colleges. These students will be carefully selected in partnership with Breakthrough Silicon Valley. This is the opportunity to truly change a child’s life and, as a bonus, your own. We recognize that some of our guests may wish to donate in a less public fashion. For those guests, we have provided donation cards on the table that can be filled out and turned in to the table attendant to participate in supporting VCS tuition assistance privately. Please join us in what has become one of the most special moments of the Quest Ball.

SHECHEM Oak Society The large oak tree on the northeast side of our campus has great significance. We call it the Shechem Oak Sanctuary. It is a sacred place where we broke ground for the new Skyway Campus and prayed that God would always accomplish His purpose in and through every student. In Scripture, at Shechem, Abraham received assurance from God that He would keep His promise of giving the land to Abraham’s descendants. It was where Jacob dug a well and erected an altar; where Joseph’s family buried his bones; where Joshua gave his parting address to serve the Lord; and where Jesus disclosed Himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman at the well (Genesis 12:6, 33:18, Joshua 24:26, John 4:12). Shechem was a reminder of God’s faithfulness for generation after generation. Like Shechem, it is our prayer that VCS will also be a reminder of God’s faithfulness and fulfill its mission in Silicon Valley and the world for generation after generation. Planned giving allows our community to make an incredible impact on future generations. The Shechem Oak Society includes as members, all who have given legacy gifts to Valley Christian Schools by including VCS in their planned giving, wills, or estate plans. “Joining the Shechem Oak Society gives us an opportunity to passionately support Valley Christian Schools and partner in strengthening it for years to come,” says Patty Favet, Shechem Oak Society Chair.
