A LETTER FROM EXTEND THE GIFT

Dear VCS Friends,

Thank you for joining Valley Christian Schools for our 10th Annual Quest Ball Dinner and Auction. Each year, this event is the cornerstone of Valley Christian Schools’ annual fundraising work and a beloved community tradition. I hope that tonight will be a wonderful time for you to connect more deeply with the mission and vision of Valley Christian Schools and reflect on the bright light of God that shines through our community. Whether you are a current family, alumni, friend, or are brand new to VCS, we welcome you to our Warrior Club and thank you for joining us to make a difference and impact the next generation of Warriors.

Tuition funds mission. Philanthropy fuels vision.

The vision of VCS is “a world where every student pursues their personal Quest for Excellence,” an excellence achieved when students grow their unique talents to reflect the nature, character, and works of God. Over the years, this vision has been impacted by members of our community just like you who have given what they can to make a difference. Our community has given their time to serve and mentor students, given talents to develop new programs and innovative learning opportunities, and provided essential funds to make dreams a reality. Tonight, we celebrate this incredible generosity and invite you to join us to do even more.

As the name suggests, the Quest Ball’s purpose is to fund the programs that make Valley Christian School’s Quest for Excellence a reality. All funds raised tonight will go to the WARRIOR FUND, which provides financial support to our A3 curriculum (Academic Achievement, Artistic Beauty, and Athletic Distinction), faculty and staff support, and tuition assistance. One of the most impactful ways we will make a difference is through supporting our tuition assistance fund, a vital program that allows hundreds of students to become Warriors each year. Tonight, we are honored to have some of our incredible alumni who have been impacted by this fund here with us. They are bright lights at VCS, and I am so honored to have them here with us tonight!

Your contributions tonight and throughout the year are the backbone of the quality, Christ-centered education that VCS is able to provide to each and every student. It is the type of education that produces Warriors: tomorrow’s leaders, properly equipped to serve God and their families, while positively impacting their communities and the world. Thank you for your support. You truly are making a difference, and we are honored to have you in our Warrior community!

Sincerely,

3

STAND UP FOR VALLEY’S KIDS

“Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4).

This is the opportunity to change a student’s life! An essential function of the WARRIOR FUND, and the Quest Ball that supports it, is raising money for tuition assistance, which is vital for over 400 students each year. Without tuition assistance, these students could not attend Valley Christian Schools or benefit from its opportunities. Tuition assistance not only ensures socioeconomic diversity in our schools it also changes lives!

Tonight, you will have an opportunity to answer prayers and make it possible for a student to become a Warrior. All funds raised during Stand Up for Valley’s Kids will be earmarked specifically for this program and the students whose lives it will change.

Getting involved is simple. When prompted, you will simply stand up to show your support for our students and make your gift on your mobile phone on BidPal, which you can link to directly through the QR Code on the right. Standing is a visual representation of our commitment to these families and the generosity of our community supporting them. All donations are celebrated, as the power of this event is everyone working together to support our students.

When you donate, your name and gift will be displayed and recognized on our main stage screen. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, you can designate this directly on the BidPal site and your name will not be displayed.

Every gift makes a difference. You can donate the full amount now or pledge an amount and give monthly over the next year. We hope you will consider how you can give the gift of education and the Quest for Excellence to a student. Everyone can make a difference!

Should anyone wish to donate at a level of $30,000 or more, these funds can, at the donor’s option, be used towards the full education costs for one of the students from the local program, Breakthrough Silicon Valley. This local program prepares motivated students with limited educational opportunities for success in rigorous college preparatory high school programs and entry into four-year colleges.

These students will be carefully selected in partnership with Breakthrough Silicon Valley. This is the opportunity to truly change a child’s life and, as a bonus, your own. We recognize that some of our guests may wish to donate in a less public fashion. You can make a donation directly on your phone through the QR Code at any time. If you have any difficulties with donating through the QR code, a Quest Ball staff member will assist you in obtaining your information at the checkout table to help you participate in supporting VCS tuition assistance privately.

Please join us in what has become one of the most special moments of the Quest Ball.

Giving PLANNED

The Shechem Oak Society empowers our community to make an extraordinary impact on future generations. The society comprises all who generously bequeath legacy gifts to Valley Christian Schools.

God assured Abraham of keeping His promise to grant the land to Abraham’s descendants. Shechem holds a significant place in this narrative—it’s where Jacob excavated a well and erected an altar, where Joseph’s family laid his remains to rest, where Joshua delivered his parting words in service to the Lord, and where Jesus revealed Himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman at the well (Genesis 12:6, 33:18, Joshua 24:26, John 4:12). Shechem stands as a powerful symbol of God’s faithfulness across generations. We fervently pray that VCS, like Shechem, will serve as a reminder of God’s unwavering faithfulness in Silicon Valley and worldwide.

At a time when many American educational institutions are straying from biblical values, you can ensure that Valley Christian Schools continues its Quest for Excellence™ for future generations. Join us in providing high-quality Christ-centered education to our children and grandchildren by including VCS in your will.

VCS partners with Thompson & Associates to offer confidential and complimentary estate planning consultations to our board members, administrators, faculty, staff, and community. Join my wife, Kris, myself, and others in discovering the most tax-efficient means of transferring your estate to benefit your family and your passions.

As a trusted member of our VCS community, please accept our gift to you and arrange your estate planning consultation with Darren Penny of Thompson & Associates. You may email advancement@vcs.net or call my office at 408-513-2503. If you have already included VCS in your planned giving, kindly inform us so we may include you in our Shechem Oak Society.

Looking forward,
