In 2015-16, Athletic Distinction was on full display highlighted by our amazing female athletes and the growth of our Human Performance Center.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Elena Bruckner continued her reign as the #1 female high school thrower in the nation (in both shot put and discus). Her season highlights included setting State records and being named the Gatorade California Female Track & Field Athlete of the Year and Cal-High Sports Athlete of the Year.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS & ACCOLADES

Our women’s volleyball team won their fourth consecutive CCS Championship in 2015, and was crowned State Champions for the second time in three years.

Multiple players signed National Letters of Intent to play collegiately at NCAA DI schools, including four for football.

VCS was home to the “best female athlete” in three different sports in the 2015-16 school year. The Human Performance Center (HPC) provides year-round, sports-specific training to maximize athletic performance, and serves as a training ground for over 300 student-athletes each day. The time and effort put into the HPC by coaches and student-athletes alike garnered amazing results in individual athletic accomplishments and team success, especially in our women’s sports.
