DIRECTOR’S NOTE Cinderella is a true rags to riches story. The title character spends her days dreaming of a better life, while making the most of her current circumstances by showing love and compassion to those around her. She experiences a similar journey to many of our Biblical role models: Joseph, David, Mary, Esther, Moses, and of course, Jesus. Born in a manger to the Virgin Mary, Christ showed us by perfect example what it means to serve others with love. Our theme verse this summer was Matthew 25:40: And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ While this production has everything a fairytale needs–beautiful gowns, tiaras, glass slippers, magic, a handsome prince, and a happily ever after ending–more importantly, it teaches us what it means to be kind, and to serve and love others, no matter what. Our students went through the roller coaster of a full-length production in just a few short weeks. From auditions, to casting, to designing, to building, to rehearsals, and performance, they have built a true community amongst themselves. And while the show you are about to see is nothing short of magical, the most exciting part is how they have embodied the message of Cinderella, working together to serve one another in love all along the way.
