Welcome to the Valley Christian Schools’ Festival of the Arts at the Mountain Winery!
We are honored to welcome you to this special event, set amidst the beauty of the Santa Cruz mountains, a well-deserved respite from the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley.
Founded by Paul Masson in 1901, the Mountain Winery holds a revered position in California’s heritage, designated as a California Historical Landmark (#733) and honored by the National Register of Historic Places for its pivotal role in shaping the state’s esteemed wine industry.
Now commemorating its 66th year of hosting its renowned concert series, the Mountain Winery has graced its stage with illustrious performers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, The Beach Boys, and a multitude of others. Tonight, we are thrilled to extend a heartfelt Valley Christian welcome to our esteemed guest artists, Anthem Lights. With their unique vocal stylings, we are confident you will enjoy their dynamic interpretations of timeless hymns, top 40 hits, and beloved Disney classics.
As we approach the culmination of the academic year, it is with immense pride that we showcase the extraordinary talents of our Valley Christian students. From impromptu performances in intimate settings to renowned competitions and festivals spanning the globe, our students continue to astound us with their unwavering dedication and boundless creativity. Tonight offers just a glimpse of the energy, enthusiasm, and dedication these young performers have towards discovering and developing their God-given talents.
Festival of the Arts continues to serve as a testament to God’s abundant blessings and the remarkable young individuals who grace our stages with their musical gifts. We are certain that you will appreciate the creativity and artistry displayed across our multiple stages this evening.
Prepare to be delighted. Thank you for joining us this evening.
Enjoy the Show!

At the heart of most success stories lies a framework of brand invention, the creation of a persona or x-factor that raises an artist above the noise. But for pop vocal group Anthem Lights, it is reinvention that’s catapulted the talented foursome to nearly 500 million YouTube views and over two million monthly listeners on streaming services. The indie group’s success is due in large part to the foursome’s vocal prowess (Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham, Spencer Kane and Joey Stamper are all exceptional singers), creative mash-ups and reinventions of pop hits and beloved hymns.
“I think the most unique thing about us is that we do all kinds of music,” shares Graham. “We do everything from a hymns medley to a Drake cover to a year-end mash-up. Our musical diversity is our identity.”
Anthem Lights maintains a large digital presence, primarily reaching their audience via video and streaming, without relying on the traditional arms
of radio and touring. Instead, they work with a team they’ve personally assembled to write, produce, record and direct, making it easier to put out more content more often.
While fans of most pop groups have to wait up to two years for new content from their favorite artists, Anthem Lights produces a wide variety of new covers, original songs and video content every month, a perfected mix that keeps their fans engaged.
Now, the group has launched its very own animated TV series called “A Show About Anthem Lights” through Sony/Affirm. Streaming on Pure Flix, the show launched January 12th of 2022 and highlights new original songs and the hilarious antics of the guys as they navigate the day-to-day struggles of a “boy band” trying to find their way in a digital world. The show, a family friendly comedy, is sure to connect with fans of all ages.
While their focus remains digital, connecting daily with their 5.2 million Facebook followers, the group does perform live when the right opportunity arises, sharing the stage with Natalie Grant, Newsboys, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman and more.
With soaring harmonies, reinvention of hit songs and focused fan interaction, Anthem Lights has quickly become the go-to group for music fans of all ages.

The Shechem Oak Society empowers our community to make an extraordinary impact on future generations. The society comprises all who generously bequeath legacy gifts to Valley Christian Schools.
God assured Abraham of keeping His promise to grant the land to Abraham’s descendants. Shechem holds a significant place in this narrative—it’s where Jacob excavated a well and erected an altar, where Joseph’s family laid his remains to rest, where Joshua delivered his parting words in service to the Lord, and where Jesus revealed Himself as the Messiah to the Samaritan woman at the well (Genesis 12:6, 33:18, Joshua 24:26, John 4:12). Shechem stands as a powerful symbol of God’s faithfulness across generations. We fervently pray that VCS, like Shechem, will serve as a reminder of God’s unwavering faithfulness in Silicon Valley and worldwide.
At a time when many American educational institutions are straying from biblical values, you can ensure that Valley Christian Schools continues its Quest for Excellence™ for future generations. Join us in providing high-quality Christ-centered education to our children and grandchildren by including VCS in your will.
VCS partners with Thompson & Associates to offer confidential and complimentary estate planning consultations to our board members, administrators, faculty, staff, and community. Join my wife, Kris, myself, and others in discovering the most tax-efficient means of transferring your estate to benefit your family and your passions.
As a trusted member of our VCS community, please accept our gift to you and arrange your estate planning consultation with Darren Penny of Thompson & Associates. You may email advancement@vcs.net or call my office at 408-513-2503. If you have already included VCS in your planned giving, kindly inform us so we may include you in our Shechem Oak Society.
Looking forward,
