SPOTLIGHT Nancy Franklin

3D Animation, 3D Game Design, Video Production; Technological Support Specialist and Technology Advisor.

In May of 2018, Mrs. Nancy Franklin was recognized as the Valley Christian Junior High Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Franklin is dedicated to the VCJH Community in many ways. She consistently provides quality educational experiences for all who enter the class. Explanations of material are detailed, with specific examples and engaging demonstrations. Mrs. Franklin ensures all students understand and are stretched in their learning. Parents have commented, • “Mrs. Franklin communicates well, both with students and parents.” • “She is easy to understand.” • “High standards are held for the students in her class.” • “She has a loving heart.” • “She is a great educator and role model.” • “Mrs. Franklin pushes students further than they ever thought possible.” • “She is creative and enthusiastic.” Words to describe Mrs. Franklin, who is dedicated to the ministry of education: caring, humble, servant-hearted, helpful, kind, team-player, innovative, and risk-taker. Mrs. Franklin spends time researching the latest techniques and is constantly striving to better her craft and improve our community and our use of technology. She piloted a tool that we are adopting to increase engagement and accountability, Apple Classroom 2.0. Mrs. Franklin thinks outside of the box and is willing to do what others have never achieved…even the attempt to break a Guinness World Record. This year EVERY junior high student participated in the Rube Goldberg experience many thought was impossible. She goes way above and beyond and cares about the success and well-being of every student, parent, teacher, and staff. She always steps in and fills a need wherever and whenever there is one. Mrs. Franklin started teaching in 1994, which makes this her twenty-fourth-year teaching in our junior high. Mrs. Franklin is an outstanding teacher and true asset to Valley Christian Schools. 4
