KEYNOTE August 9, 2019 Main Gymnasium
“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalms 37:4 NASB).
‘‘ ‘And in the last days it will be,’ God says, ‘that I will pour out my Spirit on all people, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams’ ” (Acts 2:17 NET).
4
Describe the vision God is giving to you as the transplanted desire from His heart to your heart for your ministry to students and families at VCS this year?
5
“But what does it say? ‘The word (rhema) is near you, in your mouth and in your heart’ ” (Romans 10:8 NASB). “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word (rhema) of Christ” (Romans 10:17 NASB).
Logos and Rhema - “There are two Greek words for ‘Word,’ logos and rhema. The world was created by the Word, logos … Jesus Christ. Logos is the general Word of God… By reading the logos from Genesis to Revelation you can receive all the knowledge you need about God and His promises; but just by reading you do not receive faith … Romans 10:17 shows that … faith specifically comes by hearing the rhema. Many scholars define … rhema as ‘the Holy Spirit using a few verses of Scripture and quickening it personally to one individual person.’ [Dr. Cho adds] “in a specific situation.” The Fourth Dimension, Cho, 1979 and 1983, p.66. 6
Which Scripture(s) in the Bible has the Holy Spirit quickened to you as His personal rhema to birth faith in your heart to achieve your vision?
7
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV). “God, who gives life to the dead calls those things which do not exist as though they did” (Romans 4:17 NKJV).
Vision - “A God-given vision is getting a glimpse of what God wants to do through your life. When God gives a vision, He will give the faith and the means to see it happen as you follow Him. His vision is always bigger than our dreams and never lacking His provision. The vision and provision often involves progressive disclosure.’ Quest for Excellence, Daugherty, 2006 and 2015, Kindle pp. 37, 154 and 158. 8
Write “the substance of things hoped for” of your vision. Give a detailed description - a clear-cut ministry objective you can pray for that God intends but doesn’t yet exist.

Twenty Indispensable Principles In the back of each of Dr. Daugherty’s books, Quest for Excellence (page 237), The Quest Continues (page 325), and Quest for Quality Education (page 221), you will find guiding principles to support your vision and faith (rhema) journey. 10
Journal the Journey
Periodically document the ways God has supernaturally worked through your life. Honor Him for His faithfulness, and allow these accounts to bring you and others into a new dimension of faith in and love for God. Later in life when you face doubts and difficulties, written testimonies of what God has accomplished through you will be a great encouragement. Recorded details of God’s miraculous works will speak to you, your children, and their children, and teach others about His faithfulness.
