We are thinkers who dream, builders who create, and explorers who pursue God’s calling for our lives. We are passionate, curious, and grounded in truth. We believe in working together, asking questions, and never giving up. We answer the Warrior’s call daily to lead, serve, and impact our community and the world. While the call is the same, the journey looks different for every Warrior. For some, it entails late nights, pouring over books in preparation for AP exams, and excitedly awaiting acceptance letters from the most prestigious universities. For others, it means dedicating time to building a compassionate community through acts of service and tangible deeds. But no matter where the Quest for Excellence™ might take our students, we stand unwaveringly by their side, helping students achieve their personal and academic aspirations. Our students discover who they are, beyond the classroom, homework assignments and report cards, music recitals, science projects, and tennis matches. Being a Warrior is not just about achievements; it’s about character.

WELCOME

The story of Valley Christian Schools began during a Bible study in 1956. The late David and Edie Wallace, along with many others, prayed about establishing a school that offered both a nurturing environment and quality education built upon a strong foundation of Christian values. Their prayers were answered when VCS was established in 1960, as they partnered with more parents to create a community where students thrive both academically and spiritually. What Mr. and Mrs. Wallace couldn’t have anticipated are the countless ways God has blessed and continues to bless our school—with faculty of the highest caliber, state-of-the-art facilities, and the chance to offer our students once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunities. Our impact is spreading beyond the VCS campuses, as we think about how we can use curriculum to help solve world problems and embrace God’s vision and Jesus’ mission of global citizenship through all forms of outreach. In the following pages, you will learn how our K-12 program benefits students at all levels, providing continuity through curriculum and community. You will discover how our Christ-centered education weaves biblical truths into our classrooms and guides our students towards making wise decisions. Our mission is to offer our students a quality education built on strong Christian values. We challenge students to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives by providing educational avenues for success in a supportive and nurturing community. Here, students can thrive as they lead, serve, and impact the world.

Being a K-12 school, we offer outstanding continuity in education and training, with communication and collaboration between campuses and programs that enrich students’ educational experiences. All-school events, such as Homecoming, Festival of the Arts, and Christmas at the California, give the community a chance to interact and the students an opportunity to work together towards the same goal.

The Skyway and Leigh campuses feature some of the finest state-of-the-art facilities in the Bay Area integrated into a secure learning environment. Students enjoy a biosafety lab, piano lab, Black Box theatre, green-screen room, two athletic stadiums, recording complex, observatory, Student Life Center, two gyms, kiln and ceramics rooms, nanotechnology/microscopy lab, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

There are a variety of K-12 programs to foster our students’ unique, God-given talents through classroom curriculum and after-school offerings incorporating our A3 approach, Academic Achievement, Artistic Beauty, and Athletic Distinction, as a way of encouraging students to explore all that VCS has to offer.

MEET OUR TEACHERS At Valley Christian Schools, we believe that Christian education is not merely a job; it’s a divine calling. Our dedicated K-12 faculty, with an astounding seventy percent holding master’s and/or doctoral degrees, is passionate about equipping students to become extraordinary men and women of God. With our amazing staff, we are committed to nurturing young minds and hearts, empowering them to profoundly impact their communities and the world.

DR. RYAN ESHOFF Valley Christian High School is fortunate to have an extraordinary English teacher and administrator in Ryan Eshoff (’08), a true asset to his alma mater. He has spent the past decade igniting the minds of students, and he has recently taken on an administrative role within the school. “I love working at Valley because we have the world’s best students,” Dr. Eshoff exclaims with genuine enthusiasm. His unshakeable faith in his students’ capabilities fuels his passion and motivates him to show up every day. He eagerly witnesses their high school journey, empathizes with their challenges and celebrates their triumphs. Dr. Eshoff knows that teaching is a reciprocal journey where both teacher and student inspire and challenge each other to reach new heights.

SARA DRIES Fifth grade teacher, Sara Dries, fosters a deep sense of belonging and care in her classroom. “My students are truly part of my family,” Mrs. Dries affirms warmly. Her genuine love and compassion create a nurturing environment where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. This unique family-like atmosphere at Valley Christian Elementary fuels students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth. “Students know that our staff and I love them and, most importantly, that God loves them,” she emphasizes. The environment of love and faith at VCES is a constant source of inspiration for Mrs. Dries, motivating her to go the extra mile for her students every day.

TIM GALLEHER Tim Galleher is dedicated to training and inspiring the next generation of high school student leaders. With a courageous career transition from full-time pastor to educator, he recognized the profound influence he could have on young minds. “I love working with high school students and guiding them to lead well, serve in our community, and care deeply about something or each other,” Mr. Galleher exclaims enthusiastically. In his role as an instructor for community service classes, he is driven by his passion for developing young leaders. He firmly believes in the transformative power of service, not only in the lives of others but also in the hearts and minds of his students. By actively involving high school students in community service activities, Mr. Galleher provides practical experiences that foster leadership skills, empathy, and a profound sense of purpose. These activities teach students to lead with integrity, selflessly serve others, and cultivate genuine care for their community. 07

EL | MEET ANDREAS Andreas is a remarkable fifth grader thriving in our enriching environment, cultivating his love for math and science while exploring his other talents. Andreas’ fascination with math and science was evident from a young age. He recently achieved remarkable success, securing first place in this year’s Science Fair after winning the Grand Prize last year. Andreas simply describes his affinity for mathematics as, “fun figuring out concepts!” His genuine love for math reflects his passion for unraveling the complexities of numbers and patterns, inspiring his peers to embrace math’s wonders and real-life applications. But Andreas’ journey extends beyond math and science. At VCES, we offer diverse after-school enrichment programs that allow students, like Andreas, to fully explore their God-given talents. Andreas has immersed himself in activities such as chess, cello, Math Olympiad, and basketball, showcasing his determination to excel in multiple areas and inspiring his fellow students. Andreas’ positive attitude and unwavering dedication have not gone unnoticed. His teacher, Miss Rebecca Wong, describes him as a student who consistently wears a smile, diligently completes assignments, and exudes joy in everything he does.

JH | MEET RILEY Eighth grader Riley exemplifies the transformative impact of VCJH’s supportive environment. Riley’s musical passion shines in the school band, seamlessly transitioning between the French horn and the mellophone. Recognized for her dedication, Riley gains confidence in self-expression. In English class, her love for reading and writing shines, earning praise from her teacher, Ms. Stewart. Riley also serves as a Junior High Ambassador, warmly welcoming visiting students and fostering inclusivity. Her involvement in the Friendship Club showcases her caring nature and positivity. Ms. Stewart describes Riley as an effervescent individual who inspires classmates to participate. Her multifaceted spirit sets her apart as a shining example to all who meet her.

HS | MEET RUDY Rudy is a driven high school junior with a clear career goal: to become a neurosurgeon. His passion for helping others and making a positive impact fuels his ambition. Through the AMSE Institute’s Health and Wellness program, Rudy gains valuable knowledge about the human body and medical advancements, giving him a glimpse into his prospective future. But it is not just about personal success for Rudy. His selflessness shines through his participation in mission trips organized by the VCHS IMPACT program. Experiencing the power of serving others, he develops a profound empathy and a strong sense of compassion that will guide him throughout his medical journey. Rudy’s commitment to excellence and active involvement in extracurricular activities inspire his peers to chase their dreams and make a difference in the community. With his unwavering ambition, selflessness, and diligent work ethic, Rudy is not only set to leave a positive impact in his pursuit of a medical career but also in any other challenge he takes on.

WARRIOR LIFE Each campus has its own unique personality, but all are brimming with Warrior pride. From the energetic cheers at the elementary Jog-a-thon to the adrenaline-pumping Warrior Warz at the high school, our students exude an unwavering school spirit that’s impossible to miss. We are not just about academics; we also strive to create immersive experiences where each student belongs to a vibrant community built on excitement, purpose, and unity.

SPIRITUAL

FORMATION

At Valley Christian Schools, we believe in helping our community grow in its relationship with God through a purposeful pathway called Spiritual Formation. Through interactions with Christian mentors, campus pastors, biblical teaching, and meaningful life experiences, students thoughtfully begin to answer the questions “who is God?” and “how am I developing a relationship with Him?” Even our youngest students can define and live out their own faith on our campus and in the community.

THE WAY OF THE WARRIOR We seek to foster the ethos of wisdom, honor, courage, and sacrifice, which we call “the Way of the Warrior.” For our students, the Way of the Warrior is about personal formation on their journey toward graduation. We will encourage our students to grow in their Christian faith or be willing to give Jesus a fair hearing. Our goal for every student is to be formed into the likeness of Jesus, allowing us to reflect His love and grace to others worldwide.

IMPACT PROGRAM VCHS offers students the opportunity to demonstrate God’s love through our IMPACT Mission Trip program. IMPACT aims to transform students as they learn, loving and serving our cities, the nation, and the world. This local and global perspective allows students to use their unique, God-given abilities and talents beyond the classroom. As they are the hands and feet of Christ, our students learn that we are more alike than we are different. Students realize they impact the global community with their selfless service.

CHAPEL Chapel is an opportunity for every student to pause from their busy academic schedules and be encouraged or challenged each week through engaging music, relevant teaching, reflections on Scripture, and prayer. The Spiritual Formation team crafts the teaching calendar throughout the year to meet the experiences of young adulthood by rooting oneself in the good news of Jesus, Scripture, and community.

Students are challenged to grow in faith, character, and love for others through weekly chapels, mentoring, service opportunities, and biblical integration in all programs and courses.

ELEMENTARY At Valley Christian Elementary School (VCES), the Quest starts here. Our passionate faculty and staff create a nurturing environment that caters to the individual needs of every student. We believe in fostering the God-given talents and abilities within each child, empowering them to soar to new heights. With VCES’ strong focus on character development and spiritual growth, our students excel academically and graduate with confidence, knowing who they are and ready to conquer higher levels of learning. •

Our extensive classes and after-school programs ignite students’ passions and nurture their talents.

We use the most effective digital learning tools, which is why the iPad is used as an interactive, instructional tool in kindergarten through third grade. All fourth and fifth grade students use Chromebooks.

HIGH SCHOOL Valley Christian High School’s (VCHS) dynamic college-preparatory environment catalyzes self-discovery and personal growth as we inspire students to explore their God-given talents and lead lives defined by character, service, and influence. Discover AMSE is our K-5th grade hands-on science curriculum involving experiments on the International Space Station, robotics, agri-tech, math team, and ocean discovery.

Junior AMSE provides electives and after-school programs, ranging from math team, robotics, ocean discovery, health and wellness, and International Space Station experiments to prepare students for high school.

High School AMSE offers twenty-one after-school programs in areas such as health and wellness, agri-tech, International Space Station (ISS), competitive math team, ocean discovery, robotics, aeronautics, cyber security, and drone soccer.

VCS Research and Development (R&D) department designs, develops, and delivers innovative products and solutions for AMSE, BEI, the Conservatory, Athletics, and the Quest Institute for all VCS students K–12. Our innovations include the next level of student experiments on the ISS, the launch of a permanent underwater research platform in Monterey Bay (the first of its kind for an educational institution), the development of a proprietary robotics program, and new XPRIZE challenges to tackle the toughest environmental issues.

ATHLETIC DISTINCTION

“My biggest advantage coming into college was that I felt prepared athletically. Just knowing how to lift from strength and conditioning classes, I was the most experienced in my freshman class. Also, I didn’t come to college “beat up” with preexisting injuries because I had the resources to take care of my body as a high school athlete at VCS.” ~ Tori (Dilfer ’17) Stringer won two Volleyball state championships at VCHS and is now playing professionally for Atlanta’s Pro Volleyball Federation team.

ATHLETICS In the Athletic Department at Valley Christian Schools, our primary goal is to foster the growth of teams and players while imparting valuable life lessons through dedicated training and participation in top-tier competitions. VCES students participate in physical education twice a week, with a special lab for kindergarteners to develop their motor skills and our Little Warrior Nation extracurricular opportunities for students to learn the fundamentals of various sports.

The Human Performance Center (HPC) provides year-round, sport-specific training to maximize strength, speed, and athletic performance for all student-athletes on the Skyway Campus.

For high school students hoping to play at the collegiate level, the Athletics program offers an on-campus specialist to assist with the college recruitment process.
