Letter & Welcome
ANNUAL Giving REPORT
ear VCS Family and Friends, It has been a joy to be on campus this fall as our students have returned to the 2022-23 school year. This year feels different and the delight of being reunited as a Warrior Community is evident through the smiles, hugs, and laughter I see through the students, teachers, and parents on campus. Our community pressed through countless challenges to keep our kids learning and thriving, and support for our students made such a difference. I hope you will enjoy reflecting on this past school year through the pages of this magazine. This is just a small glimpse of the past year at VCS, and there is so much to celebrate! In 2021-22, the VCS community powerfully demonstrated the VCS theme “LET’S LOVE” through your support. This community rallied around our students to ensure that every child at VCS could continue their Quest for Excellence. Volunteers slowly returned to campus, bringing their vital energy and joy. We gathered for in-person events, from Homecoming to the Quest Ball and Golf Tournament. Together, we gave over 2.6 million dollars to support VCS students last year. This generosity meant that we could do more for every child: more classroom improvements, more students attending VCS through tuition assistance, more facility improvements for our program areas, more faculty receiving housing assistance, and more social and emotional support for kids who have been through so much these last years. Every dollar made a difference! Together, we can and will do more. Last school year, more individuals than ever gave financially to VCS, which is truly something to celebrate. While VCS has an incredible 60-year history and tremendous growth in recent decades, we are still young philanthropically. We hope to establish endowments and legacy giving that many other schools already have that will strengthen our ability to support staff and students. We have the financial strength and a growing community of support that cares deeply about our students,
Dmission, and vision. We pray for the resources needed to do even more - to bring our teacher compensation up to meet competitors, to continue the facility improvements that can support our growing programs, and to provide education and ministry that lets more children experience the Quest for Excellence. VCS is a school of visionaries who dream big, are confident in God’s power and goodness, and do not settle for less than excellence. While we anticipate what we can do to strengthen our community, we celebrate what God has already done, give thanks for the incredible care our students received, and invite more to join us in the Quest for Excellence.
Sincerely,
Christi Stockhaus

Welcome Stephanie Rosas
Assistant Director of Advancement
Please join us in welcoming our new Assistant Director of Advancement, Stephanie Rosas. Stephanie has a very rich and warm history with Valley Christian Schools. She attended VCS in both elementary and middle school. Her son, Christian, is a high school senior and a VCS Lifer. She brings more than ten years of experience as an accomplished advancement leader in higher education. She most recently served as Director of Annual Giving Strategies at Santa Clara University. While at Santa Clara University, Rosas met and exceeded her goals by raising more than fifteen million dollars for the prestigious Santa Clara Fund. She looks forward to building community with the entire Warrior Family.
“In many ways I’ve never left Valley Christian, and I’m still in close contact with my VCS classmates,” said Rosas. “God has blessed me with the opportunity to return to Valley and give back to the community that has given so much to me. This is really a dream job for me. I went to Valley Christian, my son is a lifer, and I am deeply committed to our mission. I’m blessed to have come full circle.”
