Christopher Burkett’s work is masterful, and the photographs available at our Gallery leap out at the viewer. The images are hand-printed on Cibachrome paper, a rare material containing a luminosity and depth that is not attainable in other photographic mediums. Unfortunately, the manufacturer discontinued Cibachrome in 2011. Burkett wisely purchased a cache of the material, which he preserves in a freezer warehouse. At the same time, the already-expensive chemistry used in development has risen in price 100% to 400%. Effective January 1, 2014, the artist is forced to raise his prices for the first time in 13 years, on average 25%. Capture this unique opportunity to view and order pieces before the price goes up and, eventually, Cibachrome is gone forever.
