National Country Western Line Dance Competition

Secretary Cassandra listens intently to her advisor.

Valley Key Clubbers are proud to serve their community!

Secretary Cassandra Pascua’s take on: The National Country Western Line Dance Competition “We guarded the entrance doors by making sure everyone that entered had a wristband showing and directed attendees to anywhere they needed to go, like workshops, changing rooms, or even the bathrooms. The best part about the event was the fact that everyone was really nice and made us feel welcome. Towards the end, they even gave us food! It was a great experience.”

Freshmen Representative Kyle Catarata’s take on: Three Square Las Vegas “The Three Square service event was extremely successful. Our first position was to package foods and snacks for the children in our valley who don’t have food during winter break. During this session, I felt like I helped tons of hungry children in our community. Valley Key Club showed competency and leadership through this service event. This was my second time volunteering at Three Square and I look forward to attending every Three Square service event offered to me.”

December DCM

President Karl receives D28S Officer of the Month for the Month of December from Lt. Gov. Andriyah!

Junior Representative Sage de la Garza’s take on: December DCM “This month's DCM was the first DCM that I have attended this Key Club year. I was very glad that I attended the meeting because I learned so much about other clubs and what service projects they do at their school as well as in their community. Hearing all of the President's Reports gave me a little insight on how other president's run their meetings and organize their clubs. I also met many new Key Club members from other schools and had the chance to bond with my fellow board officers. I would recommend that more club members attend in order to receive

more information about their club and district. I am looking forward to the next DCM and I also hope to see more attendees.

Jingle Bell Walk and Run Vice President of Service Marie Hashitani’s take on: The Jingle Bell Walk and Run for Arthritis: “The Jingle Bell Walk and Run for Arthritis was such a fun event. While it was freezing and getting dark, we all were having a great time bonding together. From the dance parties to the photo booth, we all had a great time volunteering. It was one of the most relaxed and fun events we’ve had so far. It was such a great experience!”

#Banqu

Sophomore Representative Victoria Angulo’s

take on: #Banquet2014 “#Banquet2014 was so much fun! It was really great to see all of the members come together to celebrate all that Valley Key Club has done. The wrapping challenge ice breaker was really fun, and it was something really different. The presentation was also extremely inspirational! Overall, it was a really fun time to eat food, listen to music, and socialize with the

other key clubbers!”

Note from the Editor

Hello, Reader! December has honestly been stress-filled, yet beautifully festive. I love the holiday season, and spending it with Valley Key Club has been the absolute best. Just being able to say ‘Merry Christmas’ or ‘Happy Holidays’ or ‘Be safe over break’ to

the members, whom I consider my second family, is not only important to me, but also heart warming. The fact that I’ve grown so close to such inclusive, service and leadership oriented individuals makes me so happy, and is better than any gift in the world. With that being said, I sincerely hope that you, the avid The Victorious Vikings Reader, have a safe, amazing, fun, and fulfilling holiday. Do some service over the holiday. Make someone else’s holiday season outstanding, and you yourself continue to be just as outstanding.

In the spirit of service,

Alissa Dumo
