Eyubed Balcha The Walk for Wishes 5k was a very exciting event. We were able to volunteer to help kids just like us! Furthermore, we had fun inventing cheers to give the runners spirit. There were even a few teachers from Valley there! This event was great!

Hadley Mitchell The PurpleStride 5k was a great event with a great cause. It was heartwarming to see a large crowd congregate in the name of finding a cure and make an effort to help others. Those who were directly affected by pancreatic cancer or not at all came out to support the cause and I was happy to witness that the event raised over the goal amount of money. PurpleStrides was a fun event filled with kind people and I cannot wait for the next PurpleStride event!

JOSE LOYA

On Saturday, April 11th, I, with Key Club attended the UNLV festival of communities. At first, I thought, " oh this is probably just another boring convention to try attract future college students," but was I wrong! This event was so rich and diverse in culture around the world, that almost every culture was attendant at this event. With food around the whole campus, and shows on a stage, this event had represented every province! Us, the Key Clubbers helped clean the dishes, pick up trash, clean the campus, discard of trash, and refill the water sheds, while having fun at the same time. I also gained knowledge of the different people around the world, and ate exquisite foods at the same time. This event is not one you want to miss out on! I surely hope I get to do this next year

MARIE HASHITANI The Children’s Festival was a fun experience and a different event. We were able to assist the children and their parents with crafts. While volunteering, I was able to learn new crafts for myself as well as how to work with small children. We were able to stay outside and work together as a club and a family. I truly enjoyed being with Valley Key Club and getting to see the satisfaction on everyone’s expressions.

SERVICE

APRIL DIVISON Angel Scotch Coming into this DCM, I didn't know what to expect at all. I thought it would be a larger event, but it was smaller than I thought. It was a pleasant surprise, to see a group of fellow key clubbers from around the district. I usually don't get involved with key clubbers from other schools so this was an interesting experience to say the least. The sundae bar that was prepared for the end of the meeting was quite nice as well. Overall, it was fun!

Presidents and representatives wait to give reports.

Becky Lang The April DCM was so much fun and a great look ahead to how our LTG Sofia Yahya's term will be! Our committee did a good job setting up a fun time for everyone. The ice cream sundaes and floats were a hit and loved by all attendees. And the Freeze Dance icebreaker was a blast as well. Sofia gave us a very informative and inspirational presentation on the meaning of service too. And we are overjoyed to have Richard the giant panda join Division 28 South as our mascot!

COUNCIL MEETING AT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL

Attendees enjoy sweet ice cream social afterwards.

KEY CLUB INSPIR

ONCE A VIKING,

ATION TIP #4

ALWAYS A VIKING,

A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT Hello Valley Key Club, As your president of the 2015-2016 term, I hope that we are able to work together to serve our home school and community. Valley Key Club has always made a big impact, and my goal is to continue to show the success we have achieved in the past. Key Clubbers are extremely important because we make a difference, and through service, we can continue to show the passion we have for our organization and community. Throughout this Key Club year, I hope to see the majority of our club taking part in service, bonding with our family, and making memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. I want to make Key Club a place where all people will enjoy and reflect upon with happy and full hearts. We are here for you and will always be there for all students looking for a service organization or a place to call home. Although we come from different backgrounds, we are all one family, and we will always support our members. Once a Key Clubber, always a Key Clubber, and the experience will last with us forever. I look forward to the great year ahead of us and all of the joys it will bring. The upcoming events and socials we are going to have will further make the memories of a lifetime. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your president, and I will work hard to serve our family, the community, and our school. Have a great year Valley Key Clubbers, and I will see you soon!

Marie Hashitani President of Valley Key Club
