AUDIT YOUR SKILLS, ACCRUE SUCCESS, AND ACCOUNT FOR A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD
Valpo’s accounting program helps you assess and refine your skills so that you can better understand the bottom line and become an asset to any organization you choose to partner with in the future. Blending the technical material that you will be expected to apply in any accounting profession with a broad-based background in the liberal arts, coursework will place special attention on structured and unstructured problems. You’ll also improve personal communication and writing skills and engage in seminars and other group-learning experiences that will expose you to issues of ethical responsibility and other current accounting topics. To accomplish this, Valpo offers three options for students interested in earning an accounting degree: BSBA, BSBA with a double minor, and BSBA with continuance to the MBA program.
THE VALPO ADVANTAGE IN ACCOUNTING
Valpo’s accounting students benefit from small class sizes, programs that accommodate different career goals, and a curriculum that emphasizes ethics, teamwork, problemsolving, and communication, allowing students to acquire a true sense of business acumen grounded in values-based leadership. With 99% of graduates employed or enrolled in graduate school within nine months of graduation and reporting an average starting salary of $57,000 in 2023, it’s clear our expert faculty are committed to your success, both now and in the future.
• BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (BSBA)
This broad-based, 125-credit program is popular with students planning careers in fields other than public accounting or those who plan to pursue graduate study immediately after completing their bachelor’s degree.
• BSBA — DOUBLE MAJOR
A second option for accounting majors pursuing a BSBA is to complete a second major in one of our four other business majors (business analytics, finance, management, or marketing) or other major programs.
A VALPO EDUCATION
At Valpo, you receive a comprehensive, rigorous education within the liberal arts tradition, learning to think critically, communicate clearly, and solve complex problems creatively. Our committed faculty invests in the success of students both in and out of the classroom, providing you the individualized attention and guidance fundamental to reaching your full potential.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Our comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and experiential curriculum ensures that students learn the skills they need to become leaders in their workplace and advance in their careers, no matter where life takes them. ‘‘
When I came to Valpo, I fell in love with the accounting courses and at the encouragement and support of my professors, decided to add accounting as my second major. Being a studentathlete and member of the College of Business has been awesome. My classmates and professors have supported me every step of the way and there are several clubs, national honor societies, and professional organizations you can join to get more involved and gain real-world knowledge.
