Esports is a competitive industry that continues to grow with the ever-increasing demand for technology, sports, and entertainment. At Valparaiso University, our Esports management program gets you in the game, teaching you to apply marketing, event management, and financial management concepts to the fastest-growing area in sports. Students also have a unique opportunity to perform an internship with the Valpo Esports gaming community.
IT’S ALL FUN AND GAMES AND THEN IT BECOMES A CAREER
There are many different career pathways unlocked with a minor in Esports management available, including: • C ontent creators – journalism, streaming, software development, fandom art and media • Entrepreneurs – marketing, business development, corporate sponsorship, web development • Organizers – event planning, team general managing, venue coordinating, project managing, cybersecurity, community organization • Strategists – performance coaching, data science, mathematics, theory crafting, financial advising, analytics

MEET RICKY PAZ who took his love for iRacing to the next level when he became the founder of Valpo’s iRacing program through Esports. He then went on to qualify for a NASCAR-sponsored race in which he competed against collegiate drivers across the nation.

Alongside the Esports management program, Valpo is part of a nationally recognized, competitive Esports gaming community that has expanded to more than 180 colleges and universities in just three years. With access to a dedicated Esports lab, students can compete in League of Legends, Rocket League, Smash, Overwatch, and iRacing, with many of our teams boasting national championship titles!
A VALPO EDUCATION
Esports is a really good community, especially at Valpo. And in the iRacing league, there were about 400 qualifiers to get into the race. I was sitting on pins and needles for so long, but when I found out that I had qualified, I was super excited, and it was cool to see the Valpo logo on the track when I was racing with so many big universities.
