At Valparaiso University, our astronomy program offers you an illuminating journey through hands-on learning, blending your passion for space with real-world research. Here, you won’t just be an observer — you’ll be an active participant, operating a 16-inch telescope at our campus observatory and accessing telescopes across Arizona, Chile, and the Canary Islands through our SARA Consortium. Faculty at Valpo also use major telescopes, such as the Hubble and Gemini, and regularly obtain grants from NSF, NASA, and others. This unique access brings space closer, allowing you to explore the vastness of the universe with your own eyes while building skills that shine far beyond the classroom.
