WHAT IS THE ACCESS COLLEGE FOR SUCCESS?

The Access College for Success is a full-time, twoyear program where you will be on track to receive an associate of university studies. This program is designed to support students who benefit from handson support in navigating the college transition.

IS ACCESS COLLEGE RIGHT FOR YOU?

The Access College is intended for students who have an academic background that demonstrates the ability to succeed at Valpo if provided additional support throughout their freshman and sophomore years of college.

So, the answer is YES if…

• You will receive your diploma or equivalent by the fall semester

• Your cumulative high school GPA is 2.0 or higher

• One or more of the following are true:

- You are the first person in your family to attend college, or neither of your parents/guardians have received a Bachelor’s degree

- You are eligible for the Pell Grant

- You desire to attend college and obtain a bachelor’s or associate’s degree

ACADEMIC STRUCTURE

In the Access College, you will receive an associate of university studies. That means you’ll be taking classes that prepare you to pursue a bachelor’s degree either at Valpo or another school. You’ll also get to explore different careers or learn more about your dream job! Most importantly, you will have access to various academic and social resources available at Valparaiso University.

FINANCIAL AID

State, federal, and Valpo grants will combine so that the maximum annual out-of-pocket cost will be as minimal as possible. Eligibility and additional aid in the form of grants, loans, and campus employment are available to qualifying students based on the completion of the FAFSA (fafsa.gov) with Valpo’s school code (001842).
