Brief: THE project revolved around the master planning and designing an educational campus catering to special needs education the site selected for the design excercise was the site where the jai vakil special needs school is presently located in sewri,mumbai

the design process began with understanding of the functioning of a special needs school and the different kind of spaces required while catering to special needs education. the aim of the projectwas redesigning of the jai vakil special needs school

-showing the organization -the vehicular routes -the pedestrian paths

The community is where students are expected to be able to function and become as independent as possible andtherefore the idea is to design a special needs school that focuses largely on education through CBI i.e community based instruction. inorder to achieve this the porject involved the setting up of a public interface (the public promenade)creating opportunities for the special needs students’ to interact in real life situations with the community they live in

narrative: the story is about a person visiting mumbai for the first time and him experience through the art deco precint. how his journey through the area leaves him entangled in a loop of the various patterns he sees in the different elements of the art deco building such as the gates, the grills, brackets,stairwells,etc. how he begins to interpret these elements into 3d spaces and his journey alternates between the real space he is within and the sequence of fictional spaces he creates

naturethat exhibit swarm behaviour the species studied was mysids that are small shrimps,common in all marine habtats These mysids show schooling and swarming behaviour by the use of visual cues inorder to maintain position in the environment, reduce dispersal by currents, enhance antipredation, facilitate breeding and contribute to population regeneration swarms
