In addition to professional cycling, Cycling BC’s iRide team will be testing out young riders with stunts and obstacle courses throughout the day, complete with a fun and safe criterium race for kids. Be sure to explore the neighbourhood; Mount Pleasant is teeming with art, history, and plenty of sights just waiting to be discovered. Have an awesome time!
what is criterium? So, what is Criterium Racing? Criterium Racing is an action packed style of cycle racing held on a short circuit, usually only 1km in length. Races last between 45-75 minutes and spectators can expect to see racers zoom past every 90 seconds at speeds of up to 60km/h! This year’s Awesome Grand Prix (AGP) will serve as the Provincial Criterium Championship for 2018 and 2019. All riders with a Provincial Racing license or UCI Racing license can race in their category. The Awesome Grand Prix will showcase individuals and teams of up to 6 riders competing for both cash prizes and first place.

iRide Cycling BC's iRide program is designed to inspire the next generation of cyclists and riders.
Every year, iRide coaches thousands of participants, helping youth discover their own love for cycling while also connecting them with fun and safe cycling programs across the province. Here are iRide’s top tips for helping kids learn how to cycle: If your kids don’t know how to ride yet, get a balance bike, or take the training wheels off their current bike and lower the seat until their feet can fully touch the ground while sitting. Teach your kids to always squeeze/ enable the brakes when they are not moving. This should help prevent any minor accidents while learning. Work on just coasting or “scooting” and maintaining balance before
introducing pedaling. Once kids can scoot and coast on a 1% downhill gradient for 10 seconds, then it’s time to start pedaling. In addition to the adult Criterium races, Cycling BC's iRide team will be testing out Vancouver’s future riders with stunts and obstacle courses throughout the day, complete with a fun and safe kids criterium race on the grass at 3:00pm.

Red Truck Beer Company is Awesome Red Truck Beer Company 295 East 1st Avenue It’s impossible to tell the story of Vancouver’s Red Truck Beer Company without taking a trip into the city’s sudsy past. The craft brewer has been in its Mount Pleasant digs since 2015, when they launched their brewing facility, diner, shop, and parking lot, which are perfect for summer events like their popular concert series. In this real estate-focused town, we all know it’s about location, location, location. Red Truck certainly found the perfect location: Right where the Vancouver Brewery used to stand, on the banks of “Brewery Creek.” But Red Truck’s roots go back even further, to even a decade earlier, when they began in North Vancouver, and would trundle their brews to Nat Bailey Stadium for delivery in an old ‘46 Dodge Pickup that brewery owner Mark James called “Old Weird Harold.” You don’t have to guess what colour “Old Weird Harold” is. The truck is red, of course, and you can still spot him every now and then when the brewery brings him out for special occasions. A visit to Red Truck’s HQ can easily be a special occasion, whether you’re
going on a tour of the facility or just there for a pint and some comfort eats at their Truck Stop Diner. On the menu are big takes on hearty classics, from loaded burgers and hot dogs to a double-decker grilled cheese sandwich or a fried chicken sandwich. Bonus: It’s always breakfast time at Red Truck, so you can fuel up on egg dishes and a killer breakfast burger, too. On tap: Red Truck brews. Their classic line-up includes an IPA, Lager, and Ale, while seasonal favourites include their Blackberry Bourbon Ale, which is perfect for summertime sipping. One awesome side note about Red Truck is their commitment to sustainability; they recycle all spent grain as animal feed, brew with power-saving methods, use L.E.D. bulbs and natural light, and have an array of other conscientious ways they are treading more lightly with every beer they make. We’ll drink to that!

With easy access from downtown through West Vancouver, Cypress Mountain is definitely a crowd-favourite. Once on the mountain, the climb to the top of Cypress is approximately 11km, with 900m in
