When many seniors think about moving into a retirement community like Tapestry, the prospect often seems daunting Especially if they have lived in their home for many years and accumulated a lifetime of material goods, the idea of making a change can become even more overwhelming.
To simplify the moving process and provide peace of mind, Tapestry offers a complimentary move-in advisory service. Tapestry’s Sales & Move-In Advisor, Keeley Jones, provides a wide range of services, including developing custom floorplans, recommending qualified downsizers and movers, supporting the entire move-in day and following up to ensure new residents feel comfortably at home
Norma, who moved into Tapestry in November 2022, was thrilled with the support she received after deciding to move “Keeley was very helpful, and the move was such a positive experience,” she says Having settled into Tapestry, Norma is enjoying everything the community has to offer “Tapestry has everything I want – freedom, independence – but I also enjoy interacting with other residents ”
Help at every step of the way Having helped Norma and so many new residents with their move to Tapestry, Jones understands the process can seem intimidating Still, she has seen the positive benefits when seniors make a lifestyle change “When you move into Tapestry, it’s a whole new chapter and lease on life,” she says “Once residents arrive,
they always tell me they wish they had made the move much sooner!”
For homeowning seniors in Vancouver, now may be the right time to make a change With the current lower inventory of desirable detached homes, there are fewer listings and more eager buyers
“I am starting to see more multiple offers in certain neighbourhoods and at certain price points,” says Trina Quan of Oakwyn Realty Ltd “It does depend, though, on how well the home shows and how it is marketed ”
A simple yet seamless transition Jones recently helped Robert, a UBC professor, move into Tapestry As he planned to purchase furniture after selling his home, she worked closely with him to make recommendations and assist with online purchasing to simplify the process. “Keeley made my transition so easy,” says Robert. “She has been my one point of contact at Tapestry for everything, and every time I had a question, she was there!”
The simplicity of moving into Tapestry reflects the ease of life you can experience as a resident of one of its beautiful Vancouver communities. Enjoy
exceptional programming and services, including weekly housekeeping, concierge and transportation services. At Tapestry, you can focus your life on doing what you love rather than tiring and time-consuming chores.
Tapestry’s extensive wellness programs also offer unlimited opportunities to stay active and engaged, and the onsite restaurant and pub offer delicious and nutritious choices if you don’t feel like cooking in your own suite, which also features a fully-appointed kitchen.
Now is the perfect time to move into Tapestry. For a limited time, prospective residents are eligible for an exclusive offering of a $5,000 move-in incentive when they sign a lease before May 31. For more information or to schedule a personal tour and complimentary lunch, visit DiscoverTapestry.com.

Astaff report that goes before Vancouver city council April 26 recommends setting parking meter fees at $2 per hour in Chinatown as part of a pilot project that would run until the end of 2024. The$2rate,whichisbeingrecommended to help the city’s efforts to revitalize Chinatown, would be applicable between 9a.m.and10p.m.andmeansomesections ofthehistoriccommunitywouldbecheaper to park.
“Great idea,” said Jordan Eng, president of the Vancouver Chinatown Business Improvement Association Society. “We've been fighting for more parking rates for about four or five years even before the pandemic and that lobbying has kind of been to deaf ears ”
ParkingmeterfeesinChinatowncurrently rangefrom$1to$5perhourfrom9a.m.

Staffmadethe$2-per-hourrecommendation based on a survey of businesses in Chinatown
“There was a perception that parking meter fees were $5 per hour throughout Chinatown, butparkingmeterfeesonmore than half of the blocks are actually $2 per hour or less,” the staff report said.
