Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment or changed for various reasons. Every effort is made to notify you. Please provide your day, evening, and cellphone telephone numbers as well as your email address when you register, in case we need to reach you. It is your responsibility to ensure that you keep your student record up to date. A full refund is issued if a course is cancelled.
Refunds For most courses, fees are refundable if you withdraw at least seven days before the course starts. Extenuating circumstances may be considered for partial refunds. Please contact our office. Note that special refund deadlines are stated for some courses, and we are unable to issue refunds after those deadlines. Non-Refundable Fees: Some courses may have non-refundable Tuition, Application, and/or Material Fees. A full refund is issued if a course is cancelled.

The GIE Level 1 Licensing Program is recommended for any individual looking to pursue a career in the Insurance Industry. This course provides the training required by the Insurance Council of BC to obtain a Level 1 Salesperson/Adjuster License. It covers a number of topics including; an introduction to the insurance business, insurance intermediaries and insurance companies, basic documents, insurance practices and automobile insurance. Students will also learn about law and insurance, insurance contracts, insurance organizations, fire insurance, the Homeowner's policy, liability insurance, commercial coverages, reinsurance, risk management and loss adjustment and prevention. Upon successful completion of this course, students have one year to gain employment with a licensed insurance agency or adjusting firm in order to obtain a Level 1 License. Successful graduates of this Program will be awarded a Certificate from the Insurance Institute of BC. Course fee includes IIBC membership, administration and exam costs.
