Lot 4. Don Felder’s Signed Epiphone G-1275 DoubleNeck Electric Guitar and Signed Art Print.

A Don Felder signed Epiphone G-1275 alpine white double-neck 6-sting/12-string electric guitar. Featuring a double-cutaway solid mahogany body, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard, the instrument is equipped with Alnico Classic and Alnico Classic Plus humbucker pickups.

Manufactured in 2021, the reverse of the headstock is engraved with the serial number, “21031530628.” Felder has signed boldly in black felt pen horizontally across the bottom of the body, “Don Felder.” The signed guitar is in very fine condition.

Don Felder has become synonymous with the white double-neck 6/12 string as the hybrid instrument was the cornerstone of live performances of arguably the greatest rock song of the 1970s, Hotel California.

Felder’s original white Gibson GS-1275 was exhibited at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a collection of the most famous instruments in rock history, and now resides in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

A signed original color print of artwork inspired by Felder’s signature guitar is also included. The Pop Art-inflected composition features a central image of the Gibson GS-1275 on a color field background with splatter overlay, the year “1978,” and the names “Felder” and “Hotel California.” The print is signed in black felt pen in across the bottom of the guitar. Measuring 28.5”x21”, the piece is in fine condition.

One of the most popular artists in modern music, Vince Gill is famous for his top-notch songwriting, world-class guitar playing, and warm, soaring tenor, all wrapped up in a quick and easy wit.

Gill achieved his big breakthrough in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which won both the Country Music Association’s Single and Song of the Year awards as well as a Grammy. Gill has won 18 CMA Awards, including Song of the Year four times – making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history.

Since 1990, Gill has won 22 Grammy Awards. A wide-ranging songwriter, his compositions earned him entry into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005 and named as BMI Icon in 2014. The Academy of Country Music has conferred on Gill eight awards, including its prestigious Home Depot Humanitarian Award and the 2011 Career Achievement Award. Gill was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. He is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1991. In August 2012, Gill was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In addition to his own 20 studio albums (with more than 26M albums sold & 45+ charted singles), Gill has produced albums for Amy Grant, Ashley Monroe, LeAnn Rimes, and The Time Jumpers and has made guest appearances on more than 1000 albums, including those by Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton, Eric Clapton, George Jones, Gladys Knight, Willie Nelson, and many others. In 2017, Gill was invited to play with The Eagles and continues to join them onstage as part of the acclaimed Hotel California Tour 2021.
