Lot 12. Alex Lifeson’s Tour-Used “Rush” Amp & Cabinet Half-Stack.

Alex Lifeson’s signature Hughes & Kettner TriAmp MKII tube amp and Hughes & Kettner CC412B30 cabinet half-stack “Rush” rig. This rig was used on the legendary prog rock outfit’s 40th anniversary tour, Vapor Trails tour, the Snakes & Arrows tour, and the Time Machine tour.

The 100W TriAmp MKII employs three individually adjustable preamps controlling two channels each for a huge range of sonic possibilities with the characteristic performance and fidelity tubes provide. The TriAmp includes dual gain controls and three-band EQ, resonance for the first preamp, and global effects level, presence, and volume controls.

The first preamp is designed for a vintage clean sound, the second, crunchy rock grime, and the third specializes in creamy, thundering tones. The amp supports footswitch amp/channel switching and effects looping, operating parallel, serially, or -10dB. When in use, the amp glows with purple light, which added to the prog wizards’ overall stage presentation. Serial number “20100426” is printed on the back label.

The electronics are untested, and there is a semi-circular crack in the glass face from road use. A Hughes & Kettner CC412B30 4x12 280w cabinet is also included. The CC412B30 produces 4 / 16 ohms in mono and 8 ohms per side in stereo configurations. The serial number “10003751” is printed on the back port.

A “Rush” logo has been stenciled on the reverse and a piece of gaffer tape added marked “Stage Left.” Both items are accompanied by heavy duty road-used equipment cases stencil-painted with the iconic Rush text logo. The cases exhibit scratches, scuffs, nicks, chips, and assorted wear from world travel.
