Lot 18. Ed O’Brien’s Radiohead Tour-Played Signature Fender Stratocaster.

Ed O’Brien’s personal Sustainer Stratocaster of his own signature edition. The guitar was hand-built for O’Brien by Alex Perez, who worked with him to develop this guitar.

The guitar was built for O’Brien to be used for the last Radiohead tour in 2016-2018, and he played this guitar for nearly half the set. It is marked with a “2” on a piece of tape on the side of the head.

The guitar measures approximately 39” long and is in very fine condition. There is minor surface wear, small scuffs, and handling wear throughout from extensive use by O’Brien during various Radiohead concerts. O’Brien’s hard shell Fender case is included.

Michael Peter Balzary, known professionally as Flea, is an Australian-American musician and actor. He is a founding member and the bassist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Flea incorporates elements of funk, psychedelic, punk, and hard rock in his style of playing. In 2009, Rolling Stone readers ranked Flea the second-best bassist of all time, behind only John Entwistle.

In 2012, he and the other members of Red Hot Chili Peppers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Flea is also the co-founder of Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a non-profit music education organization founded in 2001 for underprivileged children.

In 2019, he published a memoir of his early life, Acid for the Children.
