Fête de la Musique The Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is a music festival taking place on June 21. It is a day on which the world celebrates the magical gift of music. Its purpose is to promote music in two ways: Amateur and professional musicians are encouraged to perform in the streets. Many free concerts are organized, making all genres of music accessible to the public. Two of the caveats to being sanctioned by the official Fête de la Musique organization are that all concerts must be free to the public, and all performers donate their time for free. The goal is to have all Trade Suppliers to the Hospitality Industry, in one location, over two days to showcase their products, highlight new products and hopefully introduce more customers. This will enable the Hospitality Industry to travel to Port Vila once a year to meet all Trade Suppliers. We see this as being cost effective, efficient, and profitable for all those involved. Duration will be two days, Thursday-Friday, 10.00am-4.00pm daily. Location will be the showground between Chantilly’s on the Bay Hotel and Moorings Hotel (where the last two annual Vanuatu Chef’s Competition events have been held). Set up will be marquee style with power provided allowing companies to display & demonstrate their products. Cost is currently estimated to be between 10,000vt-60,000vt depending on marquee space & services required to cover the two days. The cost will include complementary tickets to a canapé evening. The canapé evening will be held on the last night to close the event, and will be hosted by Vanuatu Chefs Association National Culinary Team – giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills. Extra canapé tickets will be available for sale. The Vanuatu Chefs & Food Handlers Association will benefit from any profit from the event which will be used for further training, development and education of the young Chefs of Vanuatu. The Hospitality Industry will also be a beneficiary through better trained and educated staff. Port-Vila – Efate Island • www.vanuatuchefs.com • +678 77 45 469 18-20/10:
