Trade & Media Catching the Travel Bug in Vanuatu

Book Description Published January 1, 2014: Vanuatu ticks all the boxes: island getaway, safe and friendly people, warm tropical climate, great snorkeling spots and ideal for your first international venture to the South Pacific. Vanuatu artistically has colour encapsulated both naturally and physically across its islands. The locals often present it in their clothing and sometimes with a quiet touch of a hibiscus flower placed in their hair. You cannot help thinking that the beautiful fish you study closely when you snorkel are not the only colour that surrounds and engulfs these islands of Vanuatu. The colours reflect the beautiful smiles of the Vanuatuans who go about life with freedom and sincere love. Go here to purchase book online http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HPFAQKM

Not a lot happens on the quiet island of Tanna, a 40-minute flight from Vanuatu’s capital, Port Vila – oh, except for the volcano. Nowhere else in the world can you get as close to the action as this. Perch on the rim of the volcano as night falls and the lava shoots towards you like tongues of orange flame. Anywhere else, there would be fences. Here, there’s just a spectacular show. Mind you don’t trip. Read Ute’s full review here. The newspaper circulation is 146,467 and the mention of Vanuatu alone in this story is worth around $2672. Online the website has a monthly visitor count of 455,000 valued at $4500. This is a very high-profile, national newspaper that has promoted Vanuatu, thanks to the writer Ute Junker.

Events & Festivals The Vanuatu Rowing Association will hold the inaugural “Masters in Paradise rowing regatta over Sunday 8 June 2014 and Monday 9 June 2014 on the stunning Erakor Lagoon at Port Vila, Vanuatu. While only five years old, the Vanuatu Rowing Association and the Port Vila Rowing Club has exploded onto the sporting scene in Vanuatu. While spearheaded by a small number of determined ex-patriots, the club is now dominated by ni-Vanuatu members who can be seen training each morning on the warm and tranquil Erakor Lagoon. This is also a fundraising activity for the Vanuatu Rowing Association. It will assist us to provide reticulated power to the clubhouse so our rowers are not left to train in the dark. Website.
