Local INDUSTRY Horse talk in Vanuatu Media release: “It is the most amazing experience you can imagine, riding through tropical rainforest and waterfalls one day, then having proper high calibre riding lessons the next day, something I could never do, or never afford to do, when living in Australia”. Joanne Wade, owner of Poppys on the Lagoon, Vanuatu, had always been a horse enthusiast, and after nearly ten years living in Vanuatu, has decided to share her dream with others. The release of their exclusive “horse lovers package holiday” is a first for Vanuatu and will appeal to anyone between the ages of 6 and 60 who enjoy being able to ride. “By chance or good luck, there are two remarkable people living here in Vanuatu who offer something pretty unique relative to anywhere else in the world”, said Joanne when asked to explain why the horse package has come into being. “Tom Nangam is the real horse whisperer of Vanuatu, and Stephanie Caillaud is an equestrian rider of such high level, having ridden with the Lipizzaner stallions in performances all over the world, her lessons are incredible. When we wanted to put together this holiday idea, I’m just lucky these two amazing people said yes !” said Joanne. Tom Nangam is from the mysterious island of Tanna, known primarily for Mount Yasur, Vanuatu’s most accessible active volcano and one of the major attractions for visitors coming to Vanuatu. Having worked with horses all his life, capturing and training the wild horses of the mountains and learning all the skills in horsemanship to earn him the title of Mr Equestrian”, Tom finally opened his own riding school in Port Vila only 10 months ago.
Included in the horse lovers five night package, Tom will take riders on their journeys of a lifetime through pristine tropical jungle, old historic plantations and magnificent and hidden waterfalls. He is happy to share his knowledge of the country and especially his knowledge of horsemanship during these rides. Stephanie is from France and a young woman who has already accomplished so much in the competitive world of dressage and performance both in Europe and the U.S.A. Now based in Vanuatu, Stephanie has the passion, the credentials and breadth of experience to offer visitors wanting to learn or improve in dressage, jumping or overall performance.
Included in the special horse lovers package are two full lessons on Stephanie’s own trained horses inside her open air sand arena. “We are excited that this is as good as it can get- the perfect holiday for horse lovers, combining many, many priceless experiences on horse back with the comfort of staying in a four star resort with everything including all transfers and equipment taken care of, “ said Joanne. The horse lovers package is new to Poppys and was launched on the resorts facebook and webpage www.poppys.com.vu this week. The holiday is available all year round and all enquiries can be directed to info@poppys.com.vu Joanne Wade info@poppys.com.vu Telephone +678 23425.
