‘Tok Tok Vanuatu’ Tradeshow Postponed
Media release 15 August 2013: Vanuatu Tourism Office has today announced that Vanuatu’s 2013 Tok Tok tradeshow, which was scheduled for 27-30 August, will now take place between 12-15 November 2013. The annual tradeshow has been postponed due to Air Vanuatu’s normal aircraft not being available and Vanuatu Tourism Office is contacting all attendees today to advise of the postponement. Air Vanuatu’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft is currently undergoing planned maintenance in Singapore and will not be reintroduced into service until early September. Air Vanuatu continues to operate its normal schedule with a smaller chartered aircraft but due to its limited capacity will not be able to meet the demand of Tok Tok. Air Vanuatu manager Floyd Smith confirms that the airline is fulfilling its obligations to customers but due to the limited capacity of the chartered aircraft has taken the decision to defer Tok Tok. “Air Vanuatu regrets that this decision will cause disruption to the travel plans of many of our industry partners but we look forward to welcoming you on board our aircraft when the event takes place later in the year,” Mr Smith said. We appreciate your understanding.” Vanuatu Tourism Office general manager Linda Kalpoi says “this was a hard decision but we had no other option considering the timing of the maintenance and the impact it would have on Tok Tok.”. The Tok Tok tradeshow offers wholesalers and travel industry buyers the opportunity to meet with local suppliers, exchange ideas and learn about upcoming opportunities in Vanuatu, as well as experience some highlights of this South Pacific destination firsthand. To discuss or amend bookings with Air Vanuatu please contact Katie White on kwhite@airvanuatu.com.au or phone + 61 (0) 2 8335 4646.
