McLeod Lake Indian Band Cultural Camp 2013 Me’ghe Lhoo’azi– White Fish Lake McIntyre Lake, BC Grand Opening Wednesday July 24th, 2013 Everybody Welcome 10am-2pm Canoeing, Fishing, Berry Picking, Plant Walk & Fire Pit Luncheon This year’s Cultural Camp location was decided by the Tse’khene Elders. MLIB has a parcel of land located at the south end of McIntyre Lake, BC. This being the first year of the new location the goal is to have the area setup with a fire pit, storage shed, out house and camping area cleared. In the next couple year’s we hope to install a small smoke house, picnic shelter and tenting pad. This year we will be organizing cultural programming so that the MLIB membership can share & learn traditional practises. Here are some of the activities that will be planned:
Language: full immersion of the camp Traditional Plant/Food harvest & preparation Snare Demonstrations Moose Hide Tanning Set Fish Net Trap Line History Culturally Modified Trees Animal Tracks & Trails Historical Artifacts **Watch the www.mlib.ca for program scheduling each month**

Just South of the Windy Point Gas Bar turn onto the FINLAY Forest Service Road (FSR) Drive to the 10km marker & over the bridge, take your first LEFT onto Holder Road Drive to the 10km marker, and just past that you will turn LEFT into the Plantation which will take you to a dead end road/dirt pit You will follow the walking trail from here into the Cultural Camp at the South end of the lake
