D e s c r i b i n g s p e c i f i c c h a n g e s in the e x p a n d e d library-college prog r a m , W h i t t a k e r first e x p r e s s e d relief at e l i m i n a t i n g w h a t he calls the "librarian fish-bowl"- the glassed-in, c o m m u n a l librarians' o f f i c e that was recently changed to the Access Office. T h e library staff moved upstairs i n t o the former conference rooms. T H E A C C E S S O F F I C E is becoming the College's central agency for indexing educational m a t e r i a l s a m o n g t h e v a r i o u s dep a r t m e n t s of t h i s s c h o o l a n d a l s o a m o n g o t h e r schools. I he J u d i c i a l B o a r d , w h i c h h a d n o p o w e r t o act o n t h e list of req u e s t s , f o r w a r d e d t h e list last Friday to the AdAB. M eeting Monday, the A d A B referred the r e q u e s t f o r " a m i n i m u m of t w o black s t u d e n t m e m b e r s o n t h e Judicial B o a r d " to the CLB which established the Judicial Board and is t h e o n l y b o d y that can m a k e c h a n g e s in its m e m b e r s h i p . In a d d i t i o n t o a p p r o v i n g t h e a p p o i n t m e n t of t w o black stud e n t s t o t h e J u d i c i a l Board f o r t h e r e m a i n d e r of t h e s c h o o l y e a r , t h e C L B also r e c o m m e n d e d t h a t t h e H u m a n R e l a t i o n s C o u n c i l w h i c h is t o be a p p o i n t e d " t a k e u p t h e m a t t e r of fair a n d e q u i t a b l e repres e n t a t i o n in t h e C o l l e g e J u d i c i a l s y s t e m at t h e earliest p o s s i b l e time." THE CLB ALSO approved a m o t i o n that the " A d Hoc Comm i t t e e w h i c h is t o be a p p o i n t e d t o work o u t t h e p u r p o s e s a n d t h e s t r u c t u r e of t h e H u m a n R e l a t i o n s Council or H u m a n Rights Comm i t t e e i n c l u d e in t h e m a k e - u p of t h e C o u n c i l o r C o m m i t t e e all minority g r o u p s . Associate Dean of S t u d e n t s , r e p o r t e d t h a t he w a s called t o Beck C o t t a g e t o t a k e Miss Weaver t o t h e h o s p i t a l Wedn e s d a y . T h e 17-year old c o e d later lost c o n s c i o u s n e s s a n d w a s u n c o n scious for two days b e f o r e she died. A m e m o r i a l service was held S a t u r d a y a f t e r n o o n in W e s t e r n T h e o l o g i c a l S e m i n a r y C h a p e l at t h e r e q u e s t of Miss W e a v e r ' s parents.
