H a r t to H o p e C o l l e g e ' s President C a l v i n A. V a n d e r W e r f Tuesday, March 28. T h e new science hall, e s t i m a t e d to cost a p p r o x i m a t e l y $4 m i l l i o n , will h o u s e the d e p a r t m e n t s of c h e m i s t r y , b i o l o g y a n d the newlyc r e a t e d g e o l o g y d e p a r t m e n t . It will r e p l a c e the p r e s e n t science b u i l d i n g which w a s c o n s t r u c t e d in 1941. T H E G R O U N D F L O O R will contain mechanical storage r o o m s , three g e o l o g y l a b o r a t o r i e s a n d a w o o d s h o p . On the m a i n level there will be m o r e g e o l o g y l a b s , two c l a s s r o o m s , a science l i b r a r y , a l a r g e lecture h a l l , semi n a r r o o m s a n d a n e x h i b i t i o n hall. T h e s e c o n d f l o o r will c o n t a i n six b i o l o g y l a b o r a t o r i e s , a museum, two special project l a b o r a tories, a n d a h e r b a r i u m . Chemistry a n d b i o l o g y will s h a r e the t h i r d f l o o r , w h i c h will contain four biology laboratories, f o u r c h e m i s t r y l a b s , two classrooms and a seminar room. T H E F O U R T H F L O O R will contain chemistry labs and a c l a s s r o o m with a g r e e n h o u s e located o n the r o o f .
