L a r s G r a n b e r g , p r o f e s s o r of p s y c h o l o g y at H o p e College, will lead a "self-concept-sharing cerem o n y " t o n i g h t at 9 p . m . in the Kletz. H e a d l i n i n g t h e e v e n i n g is D r . (I r a n b e r g ' s t a l k , " T h e C h r i s t i a n ' s C o n c e p t of H i m s e l f . " a n d s u p p o r t ing his t a l k will b e i n f o r m a l disc u s s i o n g r o u p s m e e t i n g at v a r i o u s p o i n t s on c a m p u s . T h e f i r s t of a d u a l s e r i e s , t o n i g h t ' s m e e t i n g will be followed n e x t F r i d a y by t h e topic, " T h e C h r i s t i a n ' s C o n c e p t of God." In f o r m i n g a p r o s p e c t u s for tonight's discussion. Dr. Granberg said. " T h e clinical psychologists have discovered that a person's self-attitude is t h e jumping-off point for a p e r s o n ' s a t t i t u d e s towards other people." He t h e n f o r m e d a p r o p o s i t i o n : " T h e Christ i a n f i n d s his b a s i s for a p r o p e r self r e g a r d in t h e a t t i t u d e t h a t God t a k e s t o w a r d s h i m t h r o u g h C h r i s t . " S u p p o r t i n g this t h e s i s is a key biblical word: justification, meaning "accepted and ap-

A positive self-concept provides t h e p e r s o n w i t h f r e e d o m to involve h i m s e l f with o t h e r s a n d t h e d e s i r e to love o t h e r p e o p l e , D ^ G r a n b e r g said. Of g r e a t i m p o r t a n c e in the C h r i s t i a n s e l f - c o n c e p t is the n e e d to p o s s e s s the " f r e e d o m f r o m s e l f - p r e o c c u p a t i o n in o r d e r to a c q u i r e t h e f r u i t s of t h e s p i r i t " to be a C h r i s t - l i k e p e r s o n d i r e c t e d a n d r e l a t e d to t h e w o r l d a n d its people, h e a d d e d . But p e o p l e a r e p l a g u e d by a t e n d e n c y to f i n d t h e s o u r c e of t h e i r m e r i t , t h e s o u r c e w h i c h ultimately forms their self-concept, within t h e m s e l v e s . "This traps p e o p l e in m o r a l i s m — a s y s t e m of self-righteousness," he said. D r . T h i s w e e k e n d the half - million d o l l a r W i n d m i l l I s l a n d will be dedi c a t e d by P r i n c e B e r n h a r d of the Netherlands. T h e island is a r e c o n s t r u c t i o n of 18th c e n t u r y Dutch l a n d s c a p e with t h e 125-foot w i n d m i l l being t h e p r i m a r y building. The windmill will be t h e t a l l e s t s t r u c t u r e in Western Michigan. This 200 - y e a r old windmill, named "De Zwaan" or "The S w a n , " will be a c o m p l e t e l y f u n c tional w i n d m i l l . A m i l l e r f r o m t h e N e t h e r l a n d s will s u p e r v i s e t o u r s

of t h e windmill a n d a l s o t h e g r i n d ing of flour w h i c h wil be sold to t h e t o u r i s t s . A wind of 11 to 15 m p h is n e c e s s a r y to o p e r a t e t h e mill, a n d at this s p e e d t h e t w o t o n s t o n e s will g r i n d a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1500 p o u n d s of f l o u r p e r h o u r . T h e total cost of t h e island is c o v e r e d by m u n i c i p a l r e v e n u e b o n d s t o t a l i n g $450,000, p u r c h a s e d iby G o o d b o d y & Co. of D e t r o i t . T h e r e is no cost to t h e taxp a y e r s . It w a s d i s m a n t l e d u n d e r t h e s u p e r v i s i o n of w i n d m i l l e x p e r t , J a n Medendorp and brought here l a s t fall. It l a n d e d a t M u s k e g o n a n d w a s b r o u g h t to H o l l a n d by truck.
