She r e c e i v e d her m a s t e r ' s d e g r e e in French at t h e U n i v e r s i t y o f W i s c o n s i n . A f t e r t e a c h i n g f o r s e v e r a l y e a r s , M r s . Prins c o u l d n o l o n g e r o v e r c o m e her w a n d e r l u s t , so she a t t e n d e d a summer session at t h e U n i v e r s i t y o f Besangon in France. T w o o t h e r summers w e r e s p e n t at t h e S o r b o n n e in Paris. P e r i o d i c s o j o u r n s t h r o u g h d i s t a n t c o u n t r i e s h a v e f i l l e d m a n y summers w i t h excitement a n d new experiences. A f t e r a t t e n d i n g H o p e f o r t w o y e a r s . Miss M e y e r w e n t t o t h e U n i v e r s i t y o f W i s c o n s i n , as a French m a j o r a n d a p i a n o m i n o r . She e a r n e d her m a s t e r ' s d e g r e e in t h e study o f French at C o l u m b i a U n i v e r s i t y . A summer at t h e S o r b o n n e a n d a n o t h e r in B u d a p e s t w e r e d e v o t e d t o p i a n o s t u d y . Student Council The S t u d e n t C o u n c i l has c o n t i n u e d t h e w o r k o f s t r e n g t h e n i n g c o l l e g e o r g a n i z a t i o n s w i t h a f a l l l e a d e r ship t r a i n i n g , a n d a spring leadership conference. A g a i n , in 1 9 5 4 - 5 5 , t h e S t u d e n t C o u n c i l has b e e n r e s p o n s i b l e f o r the o r g a n i z a t i o n o f c o l l e g e events, a n d the Pull, H o m e c o m i n g , the A l l C o l l e g e S i n g , a n d M a y D a y w e r e a m o n g contests a n d a c t i v i t i e s in t h e i r h a n d s , a n d a n e w a t t r a c t i o n w a s M o m a n d D a d ' s D a y . This y e a r also saw i n c r e a s e d interest in another b r a n c h of the council's w o r k . Radio Hope College.

The Praters a r e a b l e t o r e f l e c t u p o n s c h o l a s t i c a n d a t h l e t i c a t t a i n m e n t s , as w e l l as t h e t r a d i t i o n a l a c t i v i t i e s t h a t seem t o h a v e a l w a y s b e e n a p a r t o f Fraternal brotherhood. A f i n e p l e d g e class w a s w e l c o m e d and during Homecoming week-end the active chapter h a d the opportun i t y to g r e e t m a n y F r a t e r n a l a l u m n i . The winter party was " A Royal A f f a i r , " and the traditional alumni banquet, the W a s h i n g t o n Day Stag, was foll o w e d b y a f i r s t - p l a c e v i c t o r y in t h e A l l - C o l l e g e Sing by the " S t o u t h e a r t e d M e n " of OKE, led by G o r d o n M e e u w sen. The s p r i n g p a r t y , . j o i n t m e e t i n g s , t h e Frater Frolic, c o m b o jam sessions, a n d other activities served to round o u t t h e y e a r o f Frater a c t i v i t y a n d a c c o m p l i s h m e n t . The n e w p l e d g e s , n i n e in n u m b e r , w e r e w e l c o m e d w i t h a b i k e h i k e at t h e M o o r ing which included a sailboat ride. Shortly a f t e r w a r d f i v e transfer girls completed the Thesaurian " p i c t u r e " a n d were received with a coffee jaunt at Cumerford's.
