Amid concern about the RPAC changes implemented in 2015 and the transition from a 17-month fundraising year to a 12-month year in 2016, we all buckled down and went to work like never before. Congratulations to all! Our fundraising success is not just about exceeding goals and winning awards – it’s about making an even greater impact for our business and for our clients.

Our advocacy team drafts legislation, works with elected officials to sponsor bills, and shepherds them through legislative or government channels for approval. In addition, our Advocacy team serves as a governmental watchdog to ensure that regulations or laws that impair or penalize REALTORS® and property owners are not enacted, working diligently to block adverse legislation.

• Implemented civil penalties for unlicensed real estate practices. • Defeated proposal to create daily fines of $200 for signs in public right of way. • Added felony charge to any criminal who lures or entices a REALTOR® to a property with the intent to harm. • Implemented civil penalties by Real Estate Board against unlicensed real estate agents. • Passed landmark agency disclosure legislation. • Reviewed and helped reform licensing regulations. • Defeated lawyer-only closing requirements. • Approved BPOL tax reform. • Approved tax credits for building renovation and replacement of residential or commercial buildings.

the RPAC Triple Crown The RPAC Triple Crown is awarded annually to Virginia local associations that meet or exceed the three RPAC Fundraising goals: RPAC Participation, Fundraising, and Major Investors. The RPAC fundraising period runs from January 1 through December 31, with local goals based on membership and the statewide fundraising goal. Local leadership and Association Executives use a variety of strategies to meet and exceed the goals. The Triple Crown is the ultimate RPAC award recognizing local association efforts.
