7

The additional unions of pods once happen if both are aligned in the opposite direction

When the groups get bigger over the period of time in day/month/year the same private owned space can be multiplied by another pods and in by that the atrium space can be enclosed by the kinetic panels

6

Startup groups, small offices can have their breakouts in the hammock space by replacing the atrium openings

8

The additional pods union in the same way and aligned oppositely

Deployment Scenario

The deployment takes place with booking a space and a self –autonomous bot carries your pod to the station you choose to locate.

1

3

The previous space held by the open co-working space gets placed to the nearby areas where there is no demand for space

2

4

The pod arrives at front of your slot and gets placed in the rail it’ subjected to move in

9

The atrium space is now closed so the transformation can happen

10

The wall panels are now aligned and the large space of enclosed interior space is obtained

The pod which you’ve booked has it’s ability to expand to accommodate additional equipment's

Public Zone

Networking and Concentration Zone pods

Assembled Incremental Pods

Pod expansion Scenario Incremental Pod Expansion Scenario (Individuals to groups)

Hinge jointed 3 slot mechanism allows pods to expand in all the 4 sides

Since library spaces requires ventilation and quiet sound spaces atrium is added centrally

The glass atrium in community pod is formed by having the layer sandwiched inside the roof slots

Universal Connectors for roof- wall junctions and Wall-wall junctions Individuals to group Pod expansion

Pods align to allow walls to join

The lock is released Pod gets assembled

Incubation Zone pods Incremental Pod Expansion Scenario (Groups to a Community)

The lock releases in the direction the user needs to expand

Pod expansion Scenario Structural flexibility offered in the pods such that a single pod itself holds expansion and seamlessly Increase when additional pods are assembled

Functions- Small startup individuals, Private small offices

Functions- Preparation zone large equipment based work areas , Grouped work areas , enclosed/ semi-open and layering breakouts in between such as small atriums , hammocks

Functions- Large private office spaces , community enclosed co-working, growing Small business firms

Work- Life balance Scenario

3 paneled roof for deploying if expanded for Single pod expansion/ incremental pod expansion

Roof expansion to counteract wall expansion

Play-work for work –life balance by providing play-scapes in-between Group pods Hinge jointed 3 slot mechanism allows pods to expand in all the 4 sides

Universal Connectors for roof- wall junctions and Wall-wall junctions

Universal Connectors for roofwall junctions and Wall-wall junctions

Groups to a Community Pod expansion

Hammock Space connects visually the areas Besides them and acts as a open breakout space

Glass panes Wall expansion

Flexible furniture

The union masses of group pods are aligned

Glass pane expansion

Roof, Wall Mechanism

Open workspace functions in accordance with pod modular flexibility , So the same flexibility principle of increasing the levels of usages applies to furniture system

After deployment to make room and to move nearer to another pods to expand wall- floor rails helps in such expansions

Rotatable kinetic gallery communal space offers multi –directional cowork meetings from larger to smaller

Rotatable Kinetic Gallery Scenario

Rotatable Kinetic Wall/Door Scenario 1. Small meetings for open co-work based gatherings connecting networking and preparation zones

2. Large preparation zone based meetings

Closed private entries for focused work situations

1. Group based functioning needs privacy and openness to balance work-life so to counteract them kinetic wall/ door system offers them by changing the layouts in accordingly to their work situations

Outdoor visual connection for Work/life balance situations

2. Individuals who need privacy and Groups who requires breakouts can instantly switch seamlessly within the spaces they booked

Vertical pods deployment 3. Enclosed preparation zone based meetings

S- shaped vertical rail for the bot to carry the pods vertically and deploy it in the top floors

Super-conductive wheel system 4. Exhibition event based large meetings

Autonomous pods carrying bot

1 . Pods stay the same since the center of gravity changes only for the wheel system and the connector carries the pods

2. The superconductive rails systems allows the bot to travel seamlessly horizontally and vertically

Public Zone

Organic nature of creating flexible spaces than suggesting them an ideal space fosters interaction among the uses who decides what they want

Generative Design

Spring Pavilion Heart of Vondelpark, Amsterdam

Vondelpark’s tradition of sustainability in a urban infrastructure allows people to get inside it and enjoy it walking around all of it’s vast 47 acres and it’s other features and it’s beauty within it is through different sets of experience and not as a whole. The monolithic structure humbly explores design at the intersection of art and architecture honoring a multidisciplinary approach and thereby reinterpreting the program and iconography within a contemporary context to get the holistic experience.

present visual movement

Vondelpark, Amsterdam

proposed visual movement from a single stationery point

Deployment Strategy

Core Foundation

Central Spine attached with support wooden beams

Wooden ramps for ease of access and to have floor grip

Vertical wooden posts laid into ground surface for additional support

KINETIC Parent ring to hold them together

Helical outer reinforcement for transversal load bearings

360 degree surround rotatable viewing decks are then provided

Working Mechanism electric rotor

platform which it’s attached

wireframe view of the parent ring

arc gears child ring parent ring

Exploded view of the Parent ring

Pavilion in Motion

support members from central core

Parent rings in 4 platforms

Sagittal Section

So, in order to achieve kinetics for people to cycle through the pavilion electric rotors are attached to the platforms one above the other powered by solar energy these rotors rotate the intermediary arcs in each platform counter-clockwise direction to guide the flow of people traffic and make them to achieve the every nook and corner in the Vondelpark as a complete immersive experience in a static position.

Why the Structure has to be rotated? Indoor viewing space

Exhibition space Reading space

The surrounding environment deserves as the best landscapes ever to be in this world and to taste that people from all over the world visits to enjoy his/her and to regulate them and also provide them a mutual attachment to the nature they have to be cycled and transported along with the hosted activity as a initiative to bond them with the park. So, each of the platforms has viewing spaces of 40 square meters in area that’s 160 for the four of them and a central vertical core of 40.

Outdoor viewing space

Outdoor workspace

Multi-functional Unit

A kinetic structure that want’s people to celebrate the whole park seen from a static positioner going around in a rotating motion cycling them with various activities in and around is my proposal.
