Role of Zinc
Zinc affects the expression and regulation of genes and defense mechanisms (Zinc contributes to plant tolerance of environmental stress). When Zinc is deficient the plant produces an abundance of amino acids, and after Zinc becomes available the plant goes back to making proteins.
Essential in catalytic, regulatory and structural roles.
