Greetings

from Michael McKenzie Chair, Vaughan Public Library Board

Welcome to What’sOn at the Library. Vaughan Public Libraries continues to offer innovative and informative opportunities that Enrich Inspire Transform. In 2014, we plan to surpass our 2013 program benchmarks where we supported over 6,000 attendees in learning English, welcomed almost 20,000 early literacy program attendees, encouraged almost 3,000 children in VPL’s Summer Reading Program and provided over 1,000 technology training opportunities for adults. We hope that the programs listed in this edition of What’sOn inspire you to join us for some of the fabulous programming we have to offer. As we complete the construction of our new teen area at Pierre Berton Resource Library we anticipate that we will be able to begin refurbishment of the Kleinburg Library in 2014. We are confident that our construction projects will enhance our ability to provide the citizens of Vaughan with new opportunities and resources that Enrich Inspire Transform.

A volunteer from our partners, the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, will prepare your tax return for free! To be eligible, you must have a total household income of less than $20,000 without dependents and less than $30,000 with dependents. Pre-register at the Service Desk after Family Day. BCRL DC
