Welcome
Rose Savage Chair, Vaughan Public Library BoardAs the new year begins, we all have a chance to look back and reflect. This is of note for Vaughan Public Libraries, as the current Library Board’s term is coming to an end, and a mixture of new and existing faces will provide leadership and guidance for 2023 and beyond. We have achieved significant accomplishments and I would like to offer my profound gratitude to my fellow trustees for their vision, dedication and hard work. A heartfelt thanks is also extended to our Executive Management team and our remarkable staff, who work every day to deliver exceptional levels of service. We have weathered a pandemic and emerged stronger. Our library system has expanded with the opening of two innovative libraries at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre and a branch in the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. We have broken ground at the Carrville Library and are also moving forward with a new branch in West Woodbridge. Renovations and improvements are ongoing across multiple branches and we have already delivered a fully reimagined Maple Library, while the Woodbridge Library will soon celebrate its own renewal. We have been recognized for service excellence, accessibility, and innovative services through our dedication to adapt and respond to our customer needs, something that has been especially critical during the pandemic. These are just a few of VPL’s accomplishments over the past four years. We built upon a strong foundation and will continue to focus on delivering the best customer experience across all our delivery channels, through the Vaughan Public Libraries goal of enriching, inspiring and transforming our community.
Best, Rose

Ansley Grove Library
Adjacent to the Chancellor Community Centre, this 10,000 square foot library is designed for children, families, students, and neighbourhood residents. It provides access to physical and digital collections, public computers, comfortable seating, a pair of group study rooms, and a charming children’s area. The programming and meeting space can easily be configured for up to 60 people, perfect for local Vaughan businesses and not-for-profit organizations.
“I find that this library is a charming space that offers a little something to everyone who enters. It’s a great space to study, read, participate in an amazing storytime, or just chat to staff. It’s really embedded as part of the community”. — Tim Pate, Ansley Grove Library Manager
FUN FACTS
This library was actually built first as a standalone building in 1990. It wasn’t until 8 years later that the community centre was built adjacent to it.
The library is symmetrical in construction when seen from above (try it with a maps app!).
There is a member of staff at the library who has been working there since the very first day… back in 1990!
