Dat is precies waar het om gaat bij Dress Your Doll. Met de collectie van 140 verschillende modellen (kant-en-klaar op stof gedrukt) maak je in een handomdraai een leuke outfit voor je (mode)pop, en leer je met patronen te werken. Je begint heel makkelijk (één schaartje is niveau 1) en voor je het weet maak je een broek (drie schaartjes) of een jas met capuchon (vier schaartjes)! Bij elk Dress Your Doll-setje vind je ook de patronen op papier. Die kun je ook gebruiken om je eigen ontwerpen uit te voeren. Langer, korter of breder, zwierig of strak, casual of chic? Kleurig of ingetogen? Dat bepaal je zelf! Voor wie helemaal zelf wil ontwerpen ontwikkelde Dress Your Doll ook een stoffenassortiment, bedrukt met motieven op poppenschaal. De stof (die ook voor de kant-en-klare outfits wordt gebruikt) is rekbaar en rafelt niet. Erg makkelijk voor beginnende modeontwerpers! Met dit boek laten we zien hoe je met enkele basispatronen een complete garderobe voor je pop kunt ontwerpen en naaien. We gebruiken hiervoor de maten van de Dress Your Doll-mannequinpop, maar de kleren passen natuurlijk ook voor andere mannequinpoppen, zoals Barbie.
Designing fashion is a lot more fun if you then actually pick up a needle and thread and start making the clothes! That is exactly what Dress Your Doll is all about. The collection of 140 different patterns (ready printed on fabric) lets you create a great outfit for your fashion doll in a flash and also teaches you how to use patterns. You start with easy items (the number of pairs of scissors shows the difficulty: one pair of scissors is the easiest) and before you know it you will be making a pair of trousers (three pairs of scissors) or a jacket with hood (four pairs of scissors)! You will also find the patterns for each Dress Your Doll set on paper. You can use them as the basis for your own designs. Would you like something longer, shorter or wider, flamboyant or businesslike, casual or chic, colourful or toned down? It’s up to you! 6

The combination with a circle also looks spectacular as an evening dress. In this case, you make the tube a bit longer and the circle becomes an extravagant flounce. It’s easy to cut out the bolero: it’s an oval with holes for the arms. La combinaison avec un cercle est aussi spectaculaire pour une robe de soirée. Dans ce cas, faites le tube un peu plus long et le cercle forme un élégant volant. Vous pouvez facilement découper le boléro : un ovale avec des emmanchures. Auch für ein Abendkleid ist die Kombination mit einem Stoffkreis spektakulär. In diesem Fall den Schlauch etwas länger machen. Der Stoffkreis bildet einen schwungvollen Volant. Den Bolero zuschneiden ist ganz einfach: in ein Oval Armlöcher schneiden. La combinación con un círculo también resulta espectacular para un vestido de gala. En este caso, tienes que alargar un poco el tubo y utilizar el círculo para formar un airoso volante. La chaquetilla es fácil de cortar: es un óvalo con agujeros para los brazos. Con un cerchio puoi anche fare un abito da sera spettacolare: allunga il tubo ed aggiungi un cerchio come volant elegante. Per il coprispalle ritagli un ovale con aperture per le braccia.
