excellent turn-out of about 20 bikes and riders took part in a garage raid out Balcairn way. A great spectacle awaited us; and mine host had some very definite opinions on our intended stop for lunch; so much so we were force to try out his local, the Sefton Pub. We were not disappointed…

3rd December – Main VCC Noggin. This

featured a display of motorcycles; it was very refreshing to see all sorts of bike not normally seen at events but tucked away in a garage somewhere. Thanks to Phil Jeeves for the shoulder tapping. CHRIS LEITH

9th December – Christmas Noggin in the

Barn, Cutler Park. About 50 people turned up to celebrate the EOY in a way only motorcyclists know how… An excellent meal, congrats to the caterers, very well done!!

2nd January 2021 – Motorcycle New Year

Run. Not a very nice day to start off, in fact rain was the order of the day in Chch. As is often the way, get a few miles away to the north and the rain stopped… About a dozen bikes fronted up, and a couple or three cars (at least they were club eligible and one was a Triumph…) enjoyed a run to the north with lunch at the Mill Café in Waikuku.

23rd January 2021 – Fish & Chip Run. A

good turn-out of about 15 bikes enjoyed the first F&C run of the year. A rare guest appearance by Peter May, too! A circuitous route to Lincoln to undertake a garage raid on a shed full of bikes there, then I think it was off to The Grouse for lunch… (I couldn’t go…)

FUTURE EVENTS 10th February 2021 – Motorcycle Noggin.

At Motorcycle Corner, Cutler Park, 7.30 pm.

14th February 2021 - Moped Run.

Starts PMH Hospital, 10.30 am, so meet about 10.15 am. Will be a little hill work, and Kurt Ebrecht is the organiser. He is on 021 043 3707, and email is kurt.ebrecht@ gmail.com.

20th February 2021 - Motorcycle Annual

Rally. See elsewhere for full details, entry form, etc. One thing to mention, there are LOTS of trophies available to be won. While not everyone are pot-hunters it is nice to be recognised for a good performance on this the premier motorcycling event of the calendar.

21st February 2021 – Annual Clip-on

Rally. Assemble at Cutler Park in readiness for a 10.30 am start. Enjoy the thrill and wind whistling thru your hair at 20 m p h. A short run to a snack house then back to the park. A back up vehicle will be provided and please ride to be seen. Organiser is Alister McKenzie 3554017 and Doug Watkinson, ph 383 1817 or 027 727 4466.

27th February 2021 – Fish & Chip Run.

Nothing planned at this point, so meet as usual at BP, Moorhouse & Antigua St, 10.15 am for a 10.30 am departure. If we do think of something well worthwhile we will let the motorcyclists know via the email mail-out.

6th – 7th March -, Jim Toohey Rally.

This will be an overnight event. As the National Motorcycle Rally is the following week the Jim Toohey will be kept quite local. We are looking to go the Mid Canterbury area with an overnight in Methven. See page 26 for more info and an entry form.

That’s it for this month, enjoy your motorcycling – certainly the weather is coming right!
