PRESIDENT’S NOTE Hello Village Christian Key Club! My name is Hanna Jeon, having the privilege of serving you this 13-14 term. I started Key Club as a Freshman signing up not knowing what I was getting myself into. Over time I fell in love with Key Club and the impact it has on others. Well about me... 1. I am a newly entering junior. 2. I love sweets, especially cake. 3. When I am stressed out I go and clean the bathroom or bake (haha). 4. I have two dogs named Phattie and Bo-mi and I love them very much. 5. Few of my best friends are Allen Wang and Jacqueline Tsang. They are the so understanding and don't judge me like others. They are one of the reasons why I thank Key Club. Anyhow, I hope that I can lead this club to a better standing and to make an impact on just about anything. If you have any question, please feel free to come up to any of our officers and ask! I promise you, they don't bite. :) Thank you for letting us serve you. With passion and love to serve, Hanna Jeon

EDITOR
Hey guys! My name’s Alyssa D. Gallano and I could already tell that this year will be really fun! I started Key Club last year as a freshman not knowing what was going to happen to me. I thought that it would just be another high school club but it isn’t. I got to serve and help out others which made me feel really good. Anyways, about me. I love playing basketball even though I’m really short (4’10”) and swimming on my free time. I love singing and dancing. I LOVE Nutella. I love my little baby brother and I especially love God. My favorite animal is the panda (Who doesn’t like pandas? They’re so adorable!). I play the piano and sometimes the guitar and my friends usually call me “Lumpia” or “K-popper”. If you guys have questions or comments, just email or personally come up to any of the officers. We would be happy to help. I am so excited to work with all of you guys as the editor this year, it really is a privilege.
SO WHAT IS
KEY CLUB? Pledge: “I pledge on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school, and community; to serve my nation and God; and to combat all for ces which tend to undermine these institutions.” Cheer: “How do you feel?” I FEEL GOOD, OH I FEEL SO GOOD OH! *pelvic thrust* I FEEL FINE, ALL OF THE TIME ABOOGA (x5)
We DON’T make keys! Key Club is the oldest and largest self-governing service organization for high school students in the world! Each key club is led by a student-board but still receive guidance and assistance from adult volunteers. That way, the students make the decisions and therefore experience responsibility and leadership. According to the international website: “High school members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning parks, collecting food and organizing food drives.” Sounds like a regular community service club? WRONG. Hidden between the text, is the fact that Key Club is more than a community service club. Key Club brings its members closer together and forms a huge family, all which have the same goal, the desire to serve. Leadership, confidence, happiness, and teamwork are the things that make Key Club what it is today. Sounds pretty cool right? Join now! :)
