Summer is reaching out, trying to warm it up the Balkans, and we, the voluteers of VCS are again presenting you a brand new edition of VOICES megazine. There was a lot of traveling and discovering this past month and we are more then happy to share all the exciting detailswith you.

You will find four articles about different cities of the world: Belgrade, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik and Mersin. Our volunteers know the cities personally and gathered the best pointers for all the travelers. Also we havebdescription of two awesome training courses that happened in April so that you can see and consider going to one of those yourself.;) We all also hope that you‘ll like our other articles about science, culture, career and health that we prepared for you this month. You can learn at least few new aspects of these topics if you open the VOICES right now.:)

Летото се ближи, обидувајќи се да го стопли Балканот, а ние, волонтерите на ВЦС повторно ви претставуваме сосема ново издание на ВОИСЕС магазинот. Имаше многу патувања и нови запознавања изминатиот месец, а ние сме повеќе од среќни да ги споделиме сите возбудливи детали со вас. Ќе најдете четири артикли за различни градови: Белград, Сараево, Дубровник и Мерсин. Нашите волонтери ги познаваат и лично ги имаат доживеано градовите, па ги собраа најубавите работи за сите туристи. Исто така, имаме артикли за прекрасни Тренинг Курсеви кои што се случија во Април, па ќе можете да прочитате и да размислите и вие самите да учествувате на некој од следните. ;) Ние истотака се надеваме дека ќе ви се допаднат артиклите за наука, култура, кариера и здравје коишто ги припремивме за вас овој месец. 10 thinks to do in Dubrovnik This amazing city in southern Dalmatia is bordered on one side by pure Adriatic waters and on the other by imposing limestone cliffs that seem to rise up to the sky. Dubrovnik is a beautiful Baroque city that was rebuilt after the terrible earthquake of 1667, and the old historic center is surrounded by sturdy and impassable walls. The city symbolizes with perfection the history and the drama. So it was no surprise that she was chosen to become one of the flagship locations in the Game of Thrones series. So now you will discover what to do in the wonderful Croatian city.

The Stardun is the main street of the old town of the Dubrovnik overhang by a bell tour, here you can find most of the touristique boutiques and it’s the best place for chill and look people around with coffee or croatian beer.

In the island you can find a benedictine monastery upgrade in monk museum and for game on throne fans in game of throne museum where you can find the iron throne ! and some exclusive videos from the video shoots. You can also find on the top of the island a Fort Royal build during the french occupation, here you can admire the charm the dubrovnik by the sea. In Lokrum you can also enjoy the botanic garden, the sea in rock part or a parc where you find peacock and rabbit colony.

What to do in Dubrovnik after visiting its biggest places? Why not simply take the time to admire the horizon? There are not many sandy beaches in Croatia.

The white sand of the Banje beach had to be “imported”. The old ramparts rise impressively in front of you. You are in the forefront of the Eastwest, a beach bar where you have the opportunity to be ready.

This arboretum is the Eden garden of Dubrovnik, freshness and silence reign in the renaissance style garden built in 1494. During the seism of the XVI century the principal house of the garden was rebuilt and the new one was built, the garden is also transform in neo-romantic style during the XIX century. Interesting for nature passionate and for holidays walker you will like to discover the chapel or the beautiful fontaine. Even Game of Thrones recognized its beauty and filmed on this mystic location.

Test the dalmate cook Forget the pictures of the menus of tourist restaurants on Prijeko Street and visit the old town of Kopun (Croatian word meaning “young cock�), a restaurant where you can taste the local specialties. If you want to eat seafood, head to Bota Sare. This restaurant, renowned for growing its own oysters near Ston, has opened an oyster and sushi bar. Finally, if you wish to have a romantic dinner with the chosen one of your heart, go to the Prora Beach Restaurant. You can taste delicious seafood prepared by chef Peter Obad while admiring a magical panorama of the old town that seems straight out of the waters of the Adriatic.

10 gjëra për të bërë në Dubrovnik Ky qytet i mrekullueshëm në Dalmacinë jugore kufizohet në njërën anë me ujërat e pastërta të Adriatikut dhe tjetrën duke impozuar shkëmbijtë gëlqeror që duken se po ngriten lart në qiell. Dubrovniku është qytet i bukur Barokien që është rindërtuar pas tërmetit të tmerrshëm më 1667, dhe qendra e vjeter historike është e rrethuar me mure të forta dhe të pakalueshme. Qyteti simbolizon me perfekten dhe dramën. Andaj nuk është befasi që është zgjedhur të bëhet lokacion i anijeve në seritë e Game of Thrones. Dhe tani ju do të zbuloni se çfarë të bëni në këtë qytet të mrekullueshëm Kroat.

Qyteti i vjetër, ecni përgjat stradun

Stradun është rruga kryesore në qytetin e vjetër të Dubrovnik-ut, këtu ju mund ti gjeni shumicën e butikeve turistike dhe është vendi më i mirë për relaks dhe shikuar njerëzit përreth me kafe apo birrë kroate.

Kënaquni me diellin në plazhe

Çfarë të bëhet në Dubrovnik pasi ti vizitoni të gjitha vendet e mëdha ? Pse jo thjeshtë të merrni kohë dhe shikoni horizontin ? Atje nuk ka shumë plazhe me rërë në Kroaci. European Peer Training Organisation

olunteers Centre Skopje, starting officially from April 2017, has become new member of the “European Peer Training Organisation” (EPTO) network of organizations, based in Brussels. The members of EPTO are various CSO’s, which are coming from different countries from the European continent.

Historically, EPTO has always been involved in understanding the mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion in society and in tackling what is feeding all types of extremist ideologies: xenophobia, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamo-phobia and/or antiSemitism and/or Roma-phobia and/or Afro-phobia and now hatred against the so called refugees.

In that occasion, members of the VCS team attended the annual event of the network, including the annual assembly meeting, which was held from 8th till 10th of April 2017, in Berlin, Germany, where most of the members were present. The thematic of the annual event was the rising of extremism on the European continent and the event opened the floor to youth workers and practitioners to address how the issue of extremism could be better tackled through peer education.

This Event for members was an opportunity to assess the needs of the EPTO membership and to develop partnerships that could bring complexity, accurancy and subtility into the discussion in the spirit of peer education; meaning allowing us and youth the right to test, to try, to make mistake, to use the wrong terms when talking about the topic.

Erasmus + The European Peer Training Organisation (EPTO) provides a space where young people can be learners and educators, sharing with their peers their competencies in a spirit of collaboration. In EPTO, individual knowledge becomes collective knowledge. EPTO members are catalysts for peer education. They may train their peers themselves or create the conditions for peer education to happen between young people through training, mentoring and coaching creating a snowball effect.

In EPTO, young people can: • Learn more about themselves and discover the great gift of human diversity.

• Learn how to become a peer trainer and train their peers about a variety of different topics: diversity and anti-discrimination, well-being, participation...

• Get to know other peer educators and youth workers using peer education.

• Participate in European meetings with other young people.

• Become activists and initiate their own projects.

• Make a difference... and risk having fun along the way (http://epto.org/).

We, from Volunteers Centre Skopje, are more than happy to receive the invitation and to join this network, as the only CSO from Macedonia. In this occasion, we are also introducing that starting from June, VCS will be partner and co-organizer of two trainings for peer educators, together with EPTO, one in Romania and one in Macedonia, which will give opportunity to three youth workers/leaders from Macedonia to become peer educators on European level…

“Европска организација за врснички тренинг” (EPTO)

В

олонтерски Центар Скопје, започнувајќи официјално од Април 2017 година, стана членка на мрежата на “Европската организација за врснички тренинг” (EPTO), со седиште во Брисел. Членки на “EPTO” се најразлични организации, кои доаѓаат од голем број европски држави. Во насока на членството, ВЦС беше дел од годишниот настан на мрежата (вклучувајќи го и годишното собрание), кој се оддржа од 8-10 Април 2017 година, во Берлин, Германија, каде што најголем дел од членките беа присутни. Темата на годишниот настан беше растот на екстремизмот на Европскиот континент и настанот понуди отворен простор, во кој младинските работници го разгледуваа прашањето како проблемот со екстремизмот може подобро да се адресира преку врсничка едукација.

Историски гледано, “EPTO” секогаш бил инволвиран во процесот на разбирање на механизмите на инклузија и исклучување во општеството и работи на темата на што е тоа што ги храни сите типови на екстремистички идеологии: ксенофобиjа, расизам, сексизам, хомофобиjа, исламофобиjа, и/или антисемитизам, и/или Рома-фобија и или Афрофобија, и насобраната омраза насочена кон бегалците. Овој настан послужи да се направи увид на потребите на членовите на мрежата и да развијат партнерства, кои ќе придонесат кон зголемување на комплексноста, точноста и суптилноста во дискусијата, во духот на врсничката едукација, со што би се овозможило на нам и на младите да тестираат, да прават грешки и да користат “погрешни” термини, додека се дискутира на таа тема.

“EPTO” овозможува простор и креира терен каде што младите можат да бидат учени но и да учат други млади, да ги споделуваат со своите врсници своите вештини, во духот на соработката. Во “EPTO”, индивидуалното знаење станува колективно. Членките на “EPTO” се катализатори за врсничко образование. Тие можат да бидат едукатори на млади или да креираат услови за врсничкото образование да се случува само помеѓу младите, преку тренинг, менторство и тренирањето, кое предизвикува домино ефект.

Преку активностите на “EPTO”, младите можат да: - Научат повеќе за себеси и да ја запознаат човековата разноликост.

- Научат како да станат врснички едукатори и да обучуваат млади на различни тематики: различност и анти-дискриминација, здрав живот, партиципација...

- Се запознаат со дриги врснички едукатори и младински работници, преку практикување на врсничка едукација.

- Учествуваат на состаноци на европско ниво со други млади луѓе.

- Станат активисти и да иницираат сопствени проекти.

- Направат разлика...И ризик да имаат забава во текот на активностите. (http://epto. org/). Ние, од Волонтерски Центар Скопје, сме и повеќе од задоволни што добивме покана да се приклучиме кон оваа мрежа, како единствено здружение на граѓани од Македонија. Во таа насока, ние би сакале и да ви објавиме дека почнувајќи од Јуни, ВЦС ќе биде партнер и коорганизатор на обуки во соработка со “EPTO”, една во Романија и една во Македонија, кои ќе им дадат можност на три младински работници/ лидери од нашата земја да станат врснички едукатори на европско ниво...

Training course : Freedom of learning

From 30th April till 6th May 2017, members of Volunteers Centre Skopje attended on the training course: Freedom of learning, which was held in Riga, Latvia as part of Erasmus+ programme in which participated 24 participants from 8 countries: Latvia, Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Macedonia and Portugal. One of the main activities of which was given special attention was dyslexia, education of people with dyslexia and possibilities for career improvement.

Dyslexia is a specific difficulty in reading, writing and spelling in circumstances where sight and hearing are normal function in conditions of normal reading instructions given by the teacher or parent. Dyslexia is not a phenomenon that is visible and that you can recognize when talking to an individual who has. Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Isaac Newton, Alexander Bell, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, John Lennon, Ernest Hemingway, Winston Churchill, Tom Cruise, Salma Hayek are just some of the famous figures in history who had dyslexia.

As part of activities was organized visit to rehabilitation center: „Upesleju internātpamatskola - rehabilitācijas centrs“ which is also school / boarding school for children as it includes: kindergarten, primary and secondary school with specially equipped rooms for different activities: physiotherapy, salt room, program for housekeeping, wood processing, relaxation room for children with autism etc.

The Rehabilitation Center which this year marks its 40th birthday is a positive example for the care of the society towards this category of children by providing appropriate conditions for further development and more easily adapt in society.

I think, that it is very important to introduce young people with dyslexia. Dyslexia is widely known but still not very well understood specific learning disability.

Some youngsters can't understand themselves or their friends problems. This course we can consider as peer education of educators - people from different countries bring to their organizations knowledge and tools about working with dyslexia decreasing or how to make the life of dyslectic more easy – said Mrs. Ināra Kļaviņa, member of board of Latvian Speech Therapist Association – largest professional association of speech therapists in Latvia and member of board of the Association "Healthy Development School" from Ādaži, Latvia.

As part of the project participants prepared a manual with best practices for peer education with the aim of bringing awareness about dyslexia and other specific language disorders. The handbook summarizes the project activities and the participants specially designed integration of such persons in the activities that they are a fun way to learn and upgrade.

Erasmus + Во периодот од 30 април – 6 мај 2017 година, претставници на Волонтерскиот Центар Скопје присуствуваа на тренинг курсот: Freedom of learning, кој се одржа во Рига, Латвија како дел од Еразмус+ програмата на која присуствуваа 24 учесници од 8 земји и тоа: Латвија, Италија, Шпанија, Словачка, Полска, Романија, Македонија и Португалија. Една од главните активности на која беше посветено особено внимание беше дислексијата, образованието на лицата со дислексија и можностите за нивно кариерно унапредување. Дислексијата претставува специфична тешкотија при читање, пишување и спелување во услови кога видот и слухот се со нормална функција и во услови на вообичаени инструкции за читање дадени од наставникот или од родителот. Дислексијата не е појава која е видлива и која можете да ја препознаете додека разговарате со индивидуата што ја има. Алберт Ајнштајн, Томас Едисон, Исак Њутон, Александар Бел, Стив Џобс, Бил Гејтс, Џон Ленон, Ернест Хемингвеј, Винстон Черчил, Том Круз, Селма Хајек се само дел од познатите личности во историјата што имале дислексија. Во рамки на активностите беше одржана посета на центарот за рехабилитација: „Upesleju internātpamatskola - rehabilitācijas centrs“, кој воедно претставува и училиште/интернат за деца во рамки на чиј комплекс функционираат градинка, основно и средно училиште, со специјално опремени простории за различни активности: физиотерапија, солена соба, програм за домаќинско работење, преработка на дрво, релакс соба за деца со аутизам и сл. Центарот за рехабилитација кој годинава го одбележува својот 40-ти роденден е позитивен пример за грижа на општеството кон оваа категорија на деца, обезбедувајќи им соодветни услови за понатамошен развој и полесно адаптирање во општеството.

Мислам дека е многу важно да се запознаат младите луѓе со дислексијата. Дислексијата е широко позната, но сеуште не се подразбира како специфична попреченост во учењето. Некои млади не можат да ги разберат своите или проблемите на пријателите. Овој курс го подразбираме како врсничка едукација за едукатори – луѓе од различлни земји кои во своите организации ќе ги проследат знаењата и алатки за работа кои придонесуват до намалување на дислексијата или пак го олеснуваат животот на лицата со дислексција, нагласи г-ѓа Инара Клавина, член на одборот на Латвиската Асоцијација на Логопеди – најголемата професионална асоцијација на логопеди во Латвија и член на одборот на Асоцијацијата „Училиште за здрав развој“ од Адажи, Латвија. Како дел од проектот учесниците изработија прирачник со најдобрите практики за врсничка едукација (peer education) со цел покренување на свесноста кај луѓето за дислексијата и за останатите специфични јазични нарушувања. Во прирачникот сублимирани се и проектните активности кои учесниците специјално ги дизајнираа со цел интегрирање на таквите лица во активности преку кои тие на забавен начин, ќе учат и ќе се надоградуваат. Volunteerism as a vehicle to skills development and employabiliy A new project “TrainVol: Capacity Building of Civil Society to Strengthen Volunteerism Management and Promote Volunteerism Among Youth” aims to facilitate young people, and particularly youth with fewer opportunities, into social and labor market inclusion, utilizing volunteerism as a vehicle to skills development and employability promotion.

The adoption of volunteerism as a mean to achieve the project’s aims is based on the fact that volunteering is an important form of investment in human capital, while it plays a key role, among other things, in the development of transversal skills, the acquisition of new vocational skills and in the promotion of civic and social engagement and participation, as well as employability.

1) Feel as part of their communities by engaging in civic life and driving positive impact in the society, and 2) Develop their skills, knowledge and competences through training in volunteering and participation in voluntary activities, contributing that way to their personal and professional development and employability.

VOLUNTEERISM AS A VEHICLE TO SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND EMPLOYABILITY” Новиот проект со наслов “TrainVol: Capacity Building of Civil Society to Strengthen Volunteerism Management and Promote Volunteerism Among Youth” им за цел да им даде нови насоки на младите луѓе, посебно на тие до помалку можности, за нивна социјална инклузија и настап на пазарот на трудот, преку промоција на волонтерството како алатка за развој на вештини и поттикнување на вработувањето. Изборот на волонтерството како начин за постигнување на целта на проектот и базиран на фактот што преку волонтирањето се прави можне важна инвестиција во човечкиот капитал, додека пак, од друга страна, волонтерството, помеѓу останатите алатки, игра клучна улога во развојот на трансверзалните вештини, прифаќањето на нови стручни вештини, како и при промоцијата на општествена партиципација, а исто така при вработување.

Angela Rajchevska young a tireless 22 year old enthusiast. Graduated journalist and also a postgraduate student in Public Relations at the Faculty of "Iustinianus Primus" in Skopje. Volunteer at the Center for Investigative Journalism SCOOP Macedonia, member of Mountaineering Sports Club "Skopska Crna Gora" and football referee in the Football Federation of Macedonia.

VCS: Female soccer referee, what does this means for you?

VCS:

What’s the process of becoming a football referee?

Angela: For me, being a female football referee is a Angela: Basically, the training consists of interactive great achievement, special skill and courage. Women referees proves that talent and technical skills are in the first place, how a person looks is second. It is a profession that is breaking all stereotypes about women and football and offers many opportunities and open all doors to the world of the second most important thing - the football.

VCS: How was born the love for football and being a football referee?

Angela: The Love of football was born with my birth.

With a dad who was a football player, attending all of his games without exception, that game was naturally attached to me. I was practicing football since i was little. Than I started playing professionally as part of the football team at my high school "Nikola Karev" and later on as a part of the Women's football club "Edinstvo". All of my life football was beside me, my getaway place, the game I love, the game that fills me, the game I enjoy.

Angela: Irrelevant, whether you are a male or female,

if you're doing something you love and work hard for it, success is inevitable and , of course, the better one is the one that works more on theirself and on his goals.

VCS: Your best experience?

Angela:

Every game is a different story, special experience. From each match I learn different things and meet different moments that carry different weight and beauty. For the best experience I will mention my last tournament, Soccer Cup Antalya in Kemer, Antalya.

There I was able to see a different football culture, level of play where the referee as a female is a figure for astonishment. I was really impressed from the play, the behavior, the pleasant football atmosphere, the amazing conditions for the referees, literally i was impressed from everything.

I am happy that I chose such an unusual profession that really inspires me. It motivates me and teach how to persist, and most importantly, it allows me to care about football that for me is a game that means life.

VCS: Reactions or interesting situations during a football game?

Angela: There are many, some of them I already do

not remember. I won't mention one thing specifically, but I will mention those memorable insightful children's eyes turned in questionnaires when girl will stand to share the justice of the match, or the congratulations from the more experienced colleagues and football officials for some good key decisions.

VCS: Do you work in a team with a male or female and in which category?

Angela: Currently I work in the category of men,

because I still have not gained the license that includes category first league women, but I have attended junior categories and tournaments in women's football as well. Mostly the referee team is mixed, but it happens to be in a team where all the referees are female.

VCS: How many matches have you attended so far?

VCS: Future plans and commitments in this field?

Angela: Most recently i intend to achieve the Republic

license which will allow me to reach for UEFA and FIFA licenses that'd open a lot of doors and opportunities for advancement in my referee career. In the near future, in July, I expect one new great experience, Norway Cup 2017, the world's largest soccer tournament in youth categories, held annually in Oslo, Norway.

Angela: So far I have appeared on the pitch about 170

times, I do not know exactly how many games, because it happens to be more than 2 games in a day, however, the number is 170 official days filled with great joy for 3 years.

“И во фудбалот може да пресуди Жена” Ангела Рајчевска е млад неуморен 22 годишен ентузијаст. Дипломиран новинар и воедно студент на постдипломски студии по Односи со јавност при Правниот факултет ,,Јустинијан Први’’ во Скопје. Волонтер во Центарот за истражувачко новинарство СКУП Македонија, член на Планинарски Спортски Клуб ,,Скопска Црна Гора", и фудбалски судија при Фудбалската Федерација на Македонија. ВЦС: Што треба да помине од обука еден фудбалски судија?

ВЦС: Жена фудбалски судија, што претставува тоа за тебе? Ангела: За мене, жена фудбалски судија претставува достигнување, умешност и храброст. Жената - судија докажува дека талентот и техничките способности се на прво место, а тоа како човек изгледа е второ. Тоа е професија која ги руши сите стереотипи за жените и фудбалот, нуди многу можности и ги отвора сите врати во светот на најважната споредна работа фудбалот. ВЦС: Како се роди љубовта кон фудбалот и да се биде фудбалски судија? Ангела: Љубовта кон фудбалот е зачната уште од мајкината утроба. Со татко фудбалер, кој во моментот на моето раѓање имал еден од своите првенствени натпревари, на кои подоцна без исклучок сум присуствувала, за мене природно прираснала таа игра. Нема да издвојам нешто конкретно, но ќе наведам дека се незаборавни оние проникливи детски очиња претворени во прашалници, кога девојка ќе застане да им ја дели правдата на некој натпревар, или, пак, честитките од поискусните колеги и фудбалски работници за некои клучни добри одлуки.

interview ВЦС: Дали судиш во тим со машко или со женско и во категорија на мажи или жени? Ангела: Моментално судам во категорија на мажи, бидејќи се уште се немам здобиено со лиценцата во која влегуваат и категоријата прва лига жени, меѓутоа имам судено помлади категории и турнири во женски фудбал. Најчесто судискиот тим е мешан, но се случува и да бидам делегирана на натпревар на којшто судиската тројка е женска. ВЦС: На колку натпревари за колку тима имаш судено? Ангела: До сега на терен се имам појавено околу 170 пати, не знам баш на колку натпревари точно, бидејќи се случува во еден ден да има и повеќе од 2 натпревари, меѓутоа, бројката е таа, 170 официјални денови исполнети со особена радост за време од 3 години.

ВЦС: Твое најдобро искуство? Ангела: Секој натпревар е посебна приказна, посебно искуство. Од секој натпревар поединечно учам разни работи и се среќавам со различни моменти кои носат своја тежина и убавина. За најдобро искуство ќе го издвојам последното судење, односно учеството на Soccer Cup Antalya во Кемер, Анталија, кадешто се сретнав со една поинаква фудбалска култура, ниво на игра кадешто судијата како женско е фигура за восхит на којашто ретко и се даваат примедби. Навистина бев воодушевена, од начинот на игра, од однесувањето, од пријатната фудбалска атмосфера, од неверојатните услови за судење, од се'. Среќна сум што избрав една ваква невообичаена професија којашто навистина ме предизвикува и исполнува. Ме мотивира и учи како да истраам, и најважното, ми овозможува да се грижам за фудбалот што за мене е игра што живот значи. ВЦС:Идни планови и ангажмани на ова поле? Ангела: Најскоро се стремам кон Републичката лиценца којашто ќе ми овозможи потоа да посегнам и по УЕФА и ФИФА лиценците кои ќе ми отворат многу врати и можности за напредување во понатамошната судиска кариера. Martin Parr was born in 1952 in Epsom in the southern suburbs of London. He is raised in a family belonging to the middle class. From a young age he watches every detail around him, with a passionate father of ornithology, and a great father adept in photography.

At the age of 13, he became passionate about photography after seeing the exhibitions of Billy Brandt and Henry Cartier Bresson. During his studies of photography at Manchester Polytechnic (1970-1973), he worked on numerous photographic projects and developed an international reputation thanks to his original and ironic approach to the documentary. But it is mainly from the arrival of colors in 1980, with a precise framing, a raw light without softness that will assert the style of Martin Parr.

At first glance, his images could make think of any holiday photographs. On closer inspection, there are sharp details that give the image its full meaning: gestures, expressions or actions that reveal an aspect of our society. The scenes are always staggered, but with a lot of humor. Basically, these everyday scenes highlight the absurdity of our consumption societies: look at this lady who wants to be promoted for beers, her expression is close to a reaction of survival.

The most significant example is in his way of describing crowds and tourism. It thus shows the contrast between expectations and realities: perfect illustration of modern consumerism.

This effect of irony and humor is reflected in part by the use of close-ups on details or faces that deform and create the grotesque. The photographer also repeatedly uses self-mockery by taking himself in "clichĂŠ" breaks.

This criticism also applies to spectators who can recognize themselves so much that these scenes are ordinary: one hesitates then between laughter or tears.

Martin Parr është lindur në vitin 1952 në Epson në pjesën periferike jugore të Londres. Ështe i rritur me një familje mesatare. Që nga fëmijeria ai dallon çdo detaj rreth tij, me babin e tij të pasionuar pas ornitologjisë dhe fotografisë. Në moshën 13 vjeçare ai u pasionua pas fotografisë pasi i pa shembujt e Billy Brendt dhe Henry Cartier Brensson. Gjatë studimeve te politeknikës në Mancester (1970-1973), ai punoi në një numër të madh projektesh fotografike duke u bere i famshëm ndërkombtarisht me punen e tij duke u qasur në punen origjinale në dokumentaret. Me shumë është i famshëm nga arritja e ngjyrave gjatë viteve 1980, me inkuadrim të saktë, me dritë të papërpunuar që do ta veçoj Martin Parrin.

“Nuk e dij mërzine, kam shumë gjëra për të bërë, por shoh njerezit që janë shumë të mërzitshëm ashtu edhe në periferitë e Zvicrrës se pasur poashtu edhe në Stokholm. Mërrzija nuk ekziston në Borei!”

Magjepsja e tij për kulturen angleze luhatet në mes admirimit dhe neverisë. Këto fotografi ndonjeherë janë humoristike, karikaturiste, mizore. Talenti i tij është po aq sa të kap detaje që nuk vërrehen dhe t’i konvertoj ne një aburditet karakterisitik. uotes like this are normal for the British comedy group called Monty Python.

Founded in the 60th it existed of total of 6 members; John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Graham Chapman.

The group was famous for a complete new kind of humor, which is also in the name of the group, so “pythonesk”. The TV series “Monty Python Flying Circus” revolutionized the world of the humor.

Comedians like Russell Brand say, that this TV Series was for him a kind of inspiration and not only for him.

The mixture of exceedingly unusual, often absurd black humor with a deeper meaning is very typical for them In 1975 the first movie “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” appeared and four years later the probably most argumentative film of the group Monty Python: “The life of Brian”.

It tells the story of Brian Cohen (played by Chapman), a young Jewish man who is born on the same day as, Jesus Christ, and what a coincidence lives even next door to Jesus. So subsequently he is mistaken for the Messiah. Some people said, that the film is a “hideous and revolting attack on religious feelings”, It is an “act of the blasphemy” and every person watching the film commits a sin. When 37 years ago “The life of Brian” celebrated its premiere in New York, the emotions of some Christian and Jewish groups cooked. But this criticism even made this film even more interesting for the other visitors in the cinemas and the international success of this film grew even more “Life of Brian” was the most successful film ever for the group.

After this the group split, but 2014 the remaining members celebrated a comeback in the Show “Mostly”, which was also visited by Mike Myers or even Stephen Hawking who was also active in a sketch of Monty Python.

The last show shown on the 20th of July, 2014 was broad casted world wide into well-chosen cinemas and by live stream on the Internet.

And also if the group Monty Python is not active, in the meantime anymore, the in heritance and what this group leaves are more than knowingly. Since this group broke the chains and the frames of the present humor. It opened a new path and a new style in humor, in where the successive artists could continue to play their creativity out and so the heart of Monty Pythons will never stops beating.

итати како овие се вообичаени за британската комичарска група ,,Монти Пајтон”. Формирана е во 1960’те и се состои од 6 членови: Џон Клиз, Тери Џилијан, Ерик Ајдл, Тери Џонс, Мајкл Палин и Граам Чапман.

Групата беше позната по една сосема нова смисла за хумор што е во името на групата, т.е. ,,пајтоновски”. Телевизиската серија ,,Летечкиот циркус: Монти Пајтон” го револуционеризираше светот на хуморот. Комичари како Расел Бренд велат дека оваа серија беше како инспирација за него, но и не само за него. Мешавината од неверојатно невообичаен, често апсурден црн хумор со подлабоко значење е нешто типично за нив. Во 1975 излезе првиот филм ,,Монти Пајтон и Светиот грал”, a четири години подоцна и веројатно и најоспоруваниот филм на групата Монти Пајтон ,,Животот на Брајан”. Mersin

Mersin is such a magnificent place, I don’t say this just because it is my hometown. I highlight this because I spent 20 years in Mersin and I was so curious to find the best places, virgin areas to go with friends to make barbecue, drink Rakı, relax in the nature. To be honest this is what I lıke. Therefore, in order to find a cozy place in Mersin I spent enough effort and I believe I found a lot of good locations which are uncovered for the majority of local people. The most of them would like to go to mall and spend all weekend time in the building among the crowd.

Sometimes getting away from the civilization is better than staying in crowded place. Occasionally we should do this as a relaxing method for our brain and listen to ourselves within the nature. So let’see what I mean with the help of the some photos.

Here is one of my best places that is called Boğsak island, even though not so huge it fıts technical term of being an island. I used to go there with my friends to light a big fire on the beach, cook, swim at night and fall asleep near the fire. If you are looking for peace, congratulations you have found it.

If you are keen on fishing or camping, Boğsak is a good spot. You might find another camper beside your tent when you wake up another day. This ıs wild area therefore sea is so clear and clean .

Also this area is inhabited by caretta carettas. If you are lucky you can catch a glimpse of them when they show above the sea.

Travelling Dear Readers let me introduce you Akyar.This is the place that I love especcialy in spring because in that time it is an empty and perfect place to go and make a barbecue. In the mean time to feel the water on your feet you may want to put your table in the sea as it is so shallow.

I go there since I was fifteen years old with my friend . To reach Akyar bay you need to pass a path which takes some time to go there, therefore if you want to add Akyar bay to your plan, be sure to take everything what you need before you go there. I almost forgot there is one humble fish restaurant where you can find a delicious fish and blue crab.

Sarajevo If it’s true what Winston Churchill once said, that the Balkans produce more history than they can consume, this is true especially for Sarajevo, a relatively small city that History has repeatedly chose as its stage-set.

I don’t know exactly why, but Sarajevo is the city I always wanted to visit. Perhaps because Sarajevo is the “Jerusalem of Europe”, the only major European city to have a mosque, a Catholic church, an Orthodox church and a synagogue within the same neighbourhood.

So, in my mind, Sarajevo means meeting of different cultures, even if I know that the name of the city is a slavicized word based on “saray” (the Turkish word for palace) and the ‘evo’ portion may come from the term “sarayovası”, meaning

If you love history or you are simply planning your next trip, this article will disappoint you. Anyway, you can find a lot of information about Sarajevo in libraries or on the web.

The truth is that when you go to Sarajevo what you experience is life, and life is impossible to tell, because words cannot really explain the things: colours, smells, the signs of shootings on houses facades, the wrinkles in the elderly’s faces, the innocence in children’s eyes. That is why I chose to describe Sarajevo only through some of the photos I took there. Because pictures, silently, say more than a thousand words.

But Sarajevo is many other things.

Sarajevois the city of the “short century”: here the twentieth century began, with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria that sparked World War I; here the twentieth century ended, when, from April 1992 to February 1996, the city suffered the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare, during the Bosnian War and the breakup of Yugoslavia.

Today, Sarajevo seems to me a new-old city rising out from the ashes, like the phoenix.It’s no coincidence thatthe capital of Bosnia and Herzegovinawas listed as one of the top ten cities to visit in 2010 by the travel guide Lonely Planet and in 2011 was nominated to be the European Capital of Culture in 2014.

travelling Furthermore, because I love poetry and for a long time I wanted to write an article about poetry(an advice not called for: you will never be alone with a poet in your pocket), I decided to give you some poems about Sarajevo. As Aristotle said, poetry is finer and more philosophical than history: poetry expresses the universal, history only the particular. I chose the 1930 born IzetSarajlić, who is the Bosnia-Hercegovina’s post-WWII most popular and most translated poet. Sarajlić’s manuscript “Sarajevo War Journal”, written during the first weeks of the siege of Sarajevo, was published in 1993. Of it, Sarajlić said: “This is the only collection of which I can say that I would love never to have written it.”Sarajlić is reported to have believed that he belonged to the 20th century. When the 21st century arrived, he would date letters to friends as “1999+1”, “1999+2” etc. He died in Sarajevo in 2002, at the age of 72.

The theory of maintaining distance was discovered by writers of post-scripts, those who don’t want to risk anything.

Today is the tenth day of war and we still can’t really hate.

I myself belong among those who believe that on Monday you have to talk about Monday, because by Tuesday it might be too late.

It’s hard, of course, to write poems in the cellar, when mortars are exploding above your head.

It’s only harder not to write poems.

Good-luck, Sarajevo Style In the Sarajevo Spring of 1992 everything is possible: you get into a line to buy bread and end up in an emergency ward among torn-off legs.

To BoroSpasojevic, the architect, friend, human being Before the war broke out I promised you that I would write a poem about Sarajevo.

On the day when I saw how you mourned the destroyed city before the TV cameras, you wrote my poem for me.

All that remains for me to do is to put my name after the lines.

Belgrade here we are!

There is nothing better, during a long term EVS in a Balkan country, than visit one of the most important cities in Balkans as well as the capital of ex Jugoslavia between 1918 and 1991. Belgrade, here we are! I can suggest you three different kind of tours: the monumental tour, the bohemian-night life tour and the historical tour.

Monumental tour If you want to discover the most important monuments of the city, you may starts from Trg Republike, where you can find the National Museum and the National Theater. Continuing on Mihailova street, the main street full of shops and restaurant, you will encounter the Hotel Moscow, one of the most important architectural gems of the Serbian capital. Continuing straigh on in the same street you will see the City Assembly, the presidential palace and theBeogradanka, a 101 metres skyscraper built between 1969 and 1974. If you continue you will findthe St. Sava Temple (Hram Svetog Save), which has a very curious history. This church is the world’s biggest orthodox church, and its history begins in 1895, when a small commemorative church was built on the hill where, in 1594, the Ottoman Empire’ssoldiers burned the remains of St. Sava. The first world war made slow down the enlargement works of the church: the works started in 1935. Afterwards, the occupation of the Nazi Army in Belgrade stopped the projects and the church was occupied by the German Army first, and by the Jugoslavian Army later. After the war, the communist government didn’t care about the church, so it was basically abandoned. In 1985 the enlargement works of the Temple started again, and they are still in progress nowadays.

travelling Bojemian tour and nightlife in Belgrade Belgrade is the perfect city for young people! If you want to taste the Balkan food and drinks you need to go inside the core of Belgrade night life. You may find many cheap restaurant, or even better tipical “Kafana”, in which you’ll find traditional live music and an amazing atmosphere. One of the most recommended places for night life and pubs is Skadarlija: a bohemian quarter full of colorful and charateristic places. You can have fun taking pictures of the most hidden places in Skardalija and its narrow roads with graffiti and a unique urban design. Skadarlija was compared to the Paris’ Montmartre, due to the atmosphere and for the warm people which live in. At the end of XIX century, some Roma communities lived there, making the quarter famous as “The gipsy quarter”. Its bohemian nature increased in 1901, when an important meeting point for artists, writers and painters was demolished in Trg Republike. For that, all the artists found a new places to meet up: Skardalija!

Historical tour Our historical tour involves two different parts of the city: Belgrade Fortress, close to the center, and Museum of Yugoslav History in Dedinje. To reach the Fortress you can go across a park called “Kalemegdan Park”. The Fortress is a point of the city from which you may enjoy the view of two rivers: Danube and Sava.

An amazing panorama is guaranteed! The fortress was built by the Roman Empire at the end of the I century b.C. During the Ottoman Empire the fortress was built and destroyed for three times, until it became one of the most important fortress during the Austrian occupation. Last but not least, the Museum of Yugoslav History and the House of Flowers. The first part is the museum of Yugoslavian migrants, with the stories of the everyday life of Yugoslavian people which were forced to move abroad. The organization of the museum will guide you deeper inside the culture and the customs of Yugoslavia. Another part of the historical complex is the House of Flowers: that is the place where Josif Broz Tito and his wife lie. The House of Flowers takes this name because, after the Tito’s death, several representatives of other countries, normal people and institutions from all over the world went there bringing flowers to pay homage to Tito.

In conclusion, Belgrade is a perfect place if you love arts, night life and history. Enjoy Belgrade!

Life is sweeter with less sugar Sugar. We all know what that is. It is the food of the century. The sweet sensation of pleasure in our mouth melting down our throat making us feel like we have the energy to climb on the highest mountain as we eat that last piece of chocolate. But do we know the true story behind the so called “food of the gods”? For as long as I remember sugar was just a regular food in my diet, my parents never prohibited me the chocolate, in school they never taught us about the consequences of having a high sugar diet, it is all around us, so easy to reach, always on the palm of our hand. So how could I have known that what I was eating was slowly killing every cell in my body?

As the sugar industry expanded, they started building their millions on false advertisement. In 1960 the sugar industry was already so influential that they paid off scientists to promote saturated fat as the main reason for heart diseases. Let me be clear, that was a lie. There is a massive line connecting sugar with heart diseases, liver diseases, diabetes, obesity and etc. Added sugar contains not one essential nutrient, and is extremely bad for our overall health! So why do we always feel like we need sugar to energize? It is simple. More sugar we eat, more sugar we need. It is addictive and it gives us the false feeling of energy after we have it. Our blood pressure rises in the first 15 minutes but then it goes down below its normal point making us feel like we need more to feel energized. Still the sugar industry is so immense that they keep controlling the media and people are unable to realize what a true enemy sugar is to our health. Not to mention the “hidden sugars”, they promote products calling them healthy substitutes that are even worse than the regular ones. Low fat yogurts, 100% natural juices (sure), canned fruits, ketchup etc.

The list is endless. And the question is: what to eat? It is very simple, stick to the basics. Is there something better than organic food? Trust me there is not. For me personally it was a tremendous change in health habits, but realizing the facts about how damaging sugar is to our wellbeing changed my perception of food for good.

The human body is a 24/7 working machine, it is an impressive thing for sure. It can easily adapt to almost anything you put it through. It fights for survival. But healthy eating habits are crucial in order for it to function properly and stay in its best form possible. Added sugar is not one of its friends.

Trust me, life is sweeter with less sugar!

Lifestyle Шеќер. Сите знаеме што е тоа. „Храната на векот“. Слаткото чувство на задоволство во устата што полека се топи и не прави да се чувствуваме како да имаме енергија да се искачиме на највисоката планина јадејќи ја последната коцка чоколадо. Но ја знаеме ли вистинската приказна позади така наречената „храна на боговите“? Од кога паметам за себе шеќерот беше обична состојка во мојата исхрана, родителите никогаш ми немаа забрането чоколада, во училиште никогаш не не’ научија за последиците од внесување на премногу шеќер во организмот, тој е насекаде околу нас, достапен на дофат од дланките. Како ли можев да знам дека она што го јадам полека ги убива сите здрави клетки во моето тело? Како што индустријата за шеќер се прошируваше, тие почнаа да ги градат своите милиони благодарејќи на лажно рекламирање. Во 1960г. индустријата за шеќер беше толку моќна што плати научници да го наметнат мислењето дека сатурираната маст е главна причина за предизвикување на срцеви болести. Да појаснам, тоа е една голема лага. Постои огромна линија која ги поврзува шеќерот со срцевите заболувања, болестите на црниот дроб, дијабетес, прекумерна тежина итн. Фабричкиот шеќер не содржи ниту една нутритивна состојка и е екстремно штетен за нашето целокупно здравје! Тогаш ќе се прашаме: зошто ни е потребен шеќерот да се чувствуваме полни со енергија? Едноставно е.

Колку повеќе шеќер внесуваме, толку повеќе шеќер ни бара организмот. Шеќерот создава зависност и ни дава лажно чувство на енергија по внесувањето. Крвниот притисок се зголемува во првите 15 минути, но потоа опаѓа под неговото нормално ниво правејќи да се чувствуваме како да ни е потребно повеќе шеќер за да имаме енергија. Сепак индустријата за шеќер е толку влијателна што се уште ги контролираат медиумите и луѓето не можат да сфатат за тоа колку шеќерот е вистински непријател на нашето здравје. Да не ги споменувам „скриените шеќери“. Тие рекламираат производи кои ги нарекуваат здрава замена а се дури полоши од нормалните производи. Ниско маслени јогурти, 100% природни сокови (како да не), конзервирано овошје, кечап итн. Листата нема крај. Останува прашањето: што да се јаде? Премногу едноставно. Задржете се на основното. Има ли нешто поубаво од органска храна? Верувајте, нема. Лично за мене тоа беше една огромна промена во здрави навики, но кога сфатив за тоа колку шеќерот го уништува моето здравје се смени целата моја перцепција за храна, засекогаш. Човечкото тело е машина што работи 24/7, тоа е навистина импресивна работа. Многу лесно може да се адаптира низ речиси се што ќе го ставиме. Се бори за преживување. Но здравата исхрана е основа за тоа да може да функционира нормално и да остане во неговата најдобра можна форма. Фабричкиот шеќер не е негов пријател. Верувајте, животот е посладок со помалку шеќер!

Career Planning There is no one guide that will tell you where to go or what to do with your career. There will always be those, who says that you should follow your passion, the usage of this frase is still increasing from the 90‘. And it sound nice, isn‘t? But then again, your mom says, that you cannot make money playing your ukulele on the streets. What to do, so that you end up having a successful and fullfiling career? You need to be flexible and find a balance.

I‘m not the one to tell you, but I remember myself, when I was in 9th grade and I was so sure, that I will be clinical psychologists in the future. And then came graduation, applications for universities and collages. I was still convinced, that I will have my own office and will consult people with problems.

I was so sure, that psychology was my only option. And now, 6 years after graduating, I have my bachelore degree in psychology and I‘m happy, that I chose that, because it gave so much knowlegde and incredible experiences, but I‘m also lost and confused, because everything end up not the way I imagined. I studied, I worked, I met a lot of new, different and awesome people, and my ideas about career changed. I‘m not so sure anymore. I understood, that what I thought I want when I was 16, is not exactly what is the best fit now, when I‘m 25.

I needed reality check, I needed experience to understand what I want for my career.

That‘s why quite a lot of people, speaking about the topic, says, that career planning is not working. Most of the time peole end up being in different positions or fields than they planned when they were young.

But it is still important to know your interests, needs, strenghs, weaknesses, ambitions, values, so you can find the right directions, and then adapt your career to your experience while you‘re going the distance.

Starting point in thinking (or planning) about your future should be VISTA (values, interests, skills, traits, ambitions). That at least helped me. Once you know yourself better, it‘s easier to understand what would be the best choice. Sometimes following your passion can be tricky. You need to be skillful in the field to be successful and the occupation should be meaningful in order for you to be happy and feel fulfilment in your life.

Then, when you have figure it out what you skills and personality traits you have, which values you appreciate, who you are and what you want, then you can start putting everything together. Gather and consider your option.

Internships, volunteering, vocational training, there‘s planty of possibilities in these times. When you decide where you want to go, do proper research on the subject, talk with alumni, people, who finished the studies and who already work in the industry, in that case you will have a better picture of where you are going and what to expect afterwords. And if you make goals, how to reach your destination, make them SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound (timely)). And always work hard for it, even if it‘s hard sometimes, though never forget, that a plan is not a life sentance, adjust to your needs and new possibilities.

What is Science ?

The word “science” probably brings to mind many different pictures: a fat textbook, white lab coats and microscopes, an astronomer peering through a telescope, a naturalist in the rainforest, Einstein’s equations scribbled on a chalkboard, the launch of the space shuttle, bubbling beakers …. All of those images reflect some aspect of science, but none of them provides a full picture because science has so many facets: • Science is both a body of knowledge and a process. In school, science may sometimes seem like a collection of isolated and static facts listed in a textbook, but that’s only a small part of the story. Just as importantly, science is also a process of discovery that allows us to link isolated facts into coherent and comprehensive understandings of the natural world.

• Science is exciting. Science is a way of discovering what’s in the universe and how those things work today, how they worked in the past, and how they are likely to work in the future. Scientists are motivated by the thrill of seeing or figuring out something that no one has before.

• Science is useful. The knowledge generated by science is powerful and reliable. It can be used to develop new technologies, treat diseases, and deal with many other sorts of problems.

• Science is ongoing. Science is continually refining and expanding our knowledge of the universe, and as it does, it leads to new questions for future investigation. Science will never be “finished.”

• Science is a global human endeavor. People all over the world participate in the process of science.

Why should you study Science ?

Have you ever wondered why you need to learn science in elementary school? Many students wonder why they need to learn it so early in life. Others just fail to understand the importance of including it in the school years. Science offers the answers to various questions we ask out of curiosity, in our early years. For instance, how does it rain? How does our body function? and many more. Science is just as important as learning other subjects like mathematics and history.

Science Develops problem-solving skills With the knowledge of science, you learn to think logically and solve a problem. It is this problem-solving skill, which is learnt in the early years that have enables a person to solve problems. Communications, medicine, transportation, and almost everything you see around you are mainly present because individuals have used their knowledge of science to create real life applications. Knowledge in this subject also enables you to understand many other subjects better.

Awareness about technology Learning the basics of how certain devices work can help you develop ideas of your own and invent new technology. Even the knowledge of how to use telescopes, microscopes, and other devices in a laboratory can help you in examining objects and determining differences between them.

Fixing minor problems in electronic objects in your own home is possible when you have the basic knowledge about technology.

How to conserve natural resources All aspects of the environment have a deep impact on our lives. As a student, science helps you to learn about how the earth functions, and how to make use of natural resources.

It also teaches you how the lack of these resources affects living things, and how you can conserve these resources. When you learn about wildlife in science, you will learn about the many species that are already extinct, because of shortage or absence of certain resources and environmental changes. Awareness about such aspects can help you contribute towards preserving wildlife. Science also teaches you to recycle and reuse products and promote a greener environment. This knowledge is very essential to help save our planet for the future.

Instills survival skills Science helps you learn about the various weather conditions, and helps you distinguish between normal weather and dangerous weather. With this knowledge, you can stay alert about natural disasters or survive the disaster. Because you learn about the characteristics of different objects that you use in your day-today life, you will be able to distinguish between things that are safe to eat and those that you should not. Almost everything that a person does requires a basic knowledge of science, and logical reasoning that is based on this subject. So, it is undoubtedly important to learn science from the early days of school.
