SPAIN! In association with the Embassy of Spain in India, the Instituto Cervantes New Delhi and with the help of an Acción Cultural Española grant, the theme of the Calcutta International Classical Guitar Festival 2016 was “Celebrating Spain!”

Shillong Guitar Quartet

Since June 2016, Calcutta Classical Guitar Society has been enabling guitar lessons for the girls at Tiljala SHED (an NGO for the development of weaker sections of society, in particular children of rag pickers). 20 music students and their music teacher (Subhankur Bhoumik) attended Johannes Moller's concert.

CALCUTTA CLASSICAL GUITAR SOCIETY The Calcutta Classical Guitar Society (CCGS) was formed in 2009, with a vision to become a leading promoter and supporter of music, in particular classical guitar music. Over the years, CCGS’s activities have covered a vast spectrum of music and musician related events aimed at bringing international maestros to India, providing a non-partisan performance platform for established as well as upcoming Indian musicians and creating opportunities for learning and showcasing of talent by students. CCGS is a non-profit cultural organisation and registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, to whom donations are exempt under Section 80-G of the Income Tax Act. INDIAN GUITAR FEDERATION The Indian Guitar Federation (IGF) is a non-profit organisation, a federation of local and regional-level guitar societies across the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Pune, Shillong and Darjeeling. The IGF supports, enables and encourages all activities that help develop guitar music, in particular classical guitar.
