I am an aspiring 4th year architecture
student. During the world cup season I liked watching football in the cafes back at my hometown, with 20 other people but cheering on the same team. My favourite memories are those where I feel connected to the community around me . I believe architecture plays an important role to convert a “ Space to a Place”.

Cultural Museum.
The museum showcases art, culture , history and development of the eastern states of India namely , Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. BLOCK A : Konark, the sun temple is in Orissa. The temple is shaped like a Chariot, with respect to the temple the Orissa museum block has been designed. The window details showcase the wheels of the Chariot. BLOCK B : Bodh Gaya is a religious site in Bihar. It is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have attained Enlightenment under what became known as the Bodhi Tree. Taking the peepal leaf as a reference the block has been designed. BLOCK C : The narrow streets, hand pulled rickshaws, Raj bari,s, Durga puja, the common people thats what it takes to make West Bengal the cultural capital of India. Focusing on the old courtyard houses of north Kolkata. BLOCK C has been designed like the 2 storey courtyard bungalows .

Residence , According to Vastu.
The residence design is based on as per the ideal conditions of Vastu . The plot is Rectangular as it is considered auspicious , plot shapes help in financial growth , prosperity and happiness. The design has been inspired from a conch .I have maintained the flow of energy from the North East direction , where the Entrance of the house is the gateway from where all the energies constantly enter or exit the house . Heavy rooms have been placed on the South east corner so as to contain the positive energies within the Residence. Kitchen should be placed under the element fire which is located in the south east direction.This space plays a vital role in maintaining the positive and negative energies in the house as it is the hub where all energies prevail.

Mixed Use Building.
Mixed Use high rise Buildings have grown in demand with time . This design comprises of a hotel and a shopping mall . Division of functionality is necessary inorder to avoid chaos amongst the users . But yet people from the hotel do have access to the mall and vice versa via the ground floor lobby. Ground floor all the services are clubbed there along with two wheeler parking. Hotel starts from the ground floor to the ninth floor . Whereas the mall starts from the first floor till the seventh floor. The Mall area has been designed as a plaza at the lower floors and more commercial at the higher floors.Open terrace spaces have been provided at the second and third floors , which acts as an interactive space to host fests or temporary kiosks .

Alma Mater
The design is based for classes 6 to 12 .Spaces have been segregated as per age group and activity. BLOCK A : The junior sections and the activity concentrated area have been placed parallel , providing easy access to open spaces as “Falling down is a part of growing up�. But there is a fine to draw between work and play . BLOCK B: As the moderator the staff rooms , labs , art room and the library have been placed in this block , so as to inculcate seriousness as they move towards Block C , ie : The Senior Block. Block C : Emphasis is laid in the Senior section as it is clearly visible from the entrance , to remind them their final goal as a student . Louvers have been extensively to allow air circulation and light in while keeping away from the harsh sunlight .

Studio Apartment.
Form follows function which means the shape of a building or an object should primarily relate to its intended function or purpose. Keeping this in mind the doctors residence has been designed based on its purpose . Purpose to serve the family’s privacy and public activity at the same time. The building has been segregated into three zones private zone which is only accessible by the family members , semiprivate zone accessible by guests and the public zone where the doctor practices his work .
