A painting class at Grand Velas Los Cabos, pre-Hispanic mosaics with straw art techniques at Velas Vallarta; and the ancient tradition of weaving dreamcatchers at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit can now be enjoyed during your next visit. Festival Gourmet International November 23rd to December 3rd, 2018 Velas Resorts is participating in the XXIV edition of the festival with two events for fine cuisine connoisseurs. At Velas Vallarta’s Andrea restaurant, Executive Chef Guillermo Carmona will join guest chef Roberto Sierra, Executive Chef of Frida restaurant at sister resort Grand Velas Los Cabos, to offer a Mexican dinner that celebrates the country’s ancestral flavors and contemporary techniques. For its part, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit is offering a gourmet adventure with seafood specialties during “The Freshest Catch Brunch”, featuring the catch of the day straight from the Pacific to be prepared by Executive Chef Guillaume Morancé and his entire team.

Energy Bites The Spa Atelier at Grand Velas Riviera Maya shares this delicious recipe from the Cocoa Bites Workshop; also known as "super foods": INGREDIENTES • • • • • • • •

⅓ cup powdered cocoa 16 dried dates 7 tbsp honey 1 tsp coconut oil 1 tsp maca root powder 1 tsp acai ½ cup oats 4 cups cashews Toppings: amaranth, chia, seeds and grated coconut
PREPARATION: Chop the dates in a food processor before adding the cocoa, maca, honey, coconut oil, oats, acai and cashews. Pour the mixture into a bowl and mix until well combined. Roll into balls a little under an inch and finish with the topping of your choice.
