SAP Trigger Points In general, task lists contains standardized sequences of work or Operation or activities. Task lists are used in different modules of SAP. 1. 2. 3. 4.
Plant Maintenance Production Planning Quality Management Project system
In PP and PM module task list contains general information like Operation details, Component required for an operation/activity and PRT required etc.
General Structure of the Task list
In Plant Maintenance, the following task lists are available. SNO 1
PP Task Lists General maintenance task list
Task list type A
Application Maintenance Plan/Order for an assembly
2 3
Equipment Task List Task List for Functional Location
E T
Maintenance Plan/Order for an Equipment Maintenance Plan/Order for a Functional location
General Maintenance task list (A) describe a sequence of individual maintenance activities which must be performed repeatedly within a company. Equipment task list will be used in PM Orders which are created for an equipment and similarly functional location task list will be used in PM order created for functional location.
In Quality Management, task list is called as “Inspection Plan “and it contains what are the Inspection characteristics are to be inspected for each inspection operation and which test equipment is to be used is defined.

In Production Planning, task list are categorized into different types and each of them used in different production process. SNO 1
PP Task Lists Routing

In Project system task list is known as ‘Standard network will be used as a template when creating other standard networks or operative networks. SNO 1

Task lists and Transaction data: Each of the task lists copied to the transactional data (i.e. Order) when creating it.For example when we create production order for a material Task list type N(Routing) will be copied and values are calculated according to the production order quantity. Similarly When Inspection Lot is created relevant Inspection plan will be copied. SNO 1 2 3 4

Selection of task list: Which task list has to be copied for each transactional data is defined in customization. For example, Here the setting when creating production order for particular Order type
IMG SETTING FOR OPL8
Task list and its usage: When creating machines/resources in SAP, Task list usage will be assigned. So that the particular work center/Machine will be only used in that task list. Example work centers created for Maintenance purpose cannot be used for Production purpose.
Create Workcenter in CR01
Here If usage 001 is assigned this particular work center can be only used in PP routing tasklist and can not be used for PM and QM tasklists. Similarly Usage 009 can be used for all type of task lists.
Task list Application SAP uses information from the Task lists to calculate capacity, schedule and costing of a work or activity or machine. Every activity or work or instruction in task list linked with control key which decides calculation that need to be done against that activity/operation (i.e. capacity, scheduling, costing etc.). Standard Control key used in PM:
PM Control Key IMG Setting When Control key PM01 is assigned with the particular operation it is relevant for Scheduling, Capacity requirement and Costing. Detail explanation of each fields in this screen is explained in next tutorial “PP Routing. QM
QM Control Key IMG Setting Similarly control key QM01, system will not calculate schedule, Capacity and costing but it expects QM Inspection characteristics against the operation.i.e Inspection characteristics are required to assign against the operation.
