FROM THE CEO’S DESK

DHANANJAY JOSHI MD and CEO, Summit Digitel

One quarter into the new Financial Year, Summit Digitel is already powering ahead of expectations. As we set new goals, face new challenges, and create new plans, it fills me with pride to see you all bring your trademark energy and enthusiasm to the table so that we can all move forward as a team. The great ideas that have been flawlessly executed over the past few months stand testament to the fact that we are here to stay. Together, we have achieved so much. It is exciting to witness our new offices opening in Pune and Bangalore, with our Kolkata and Delhi ones slated to begin operations soon. I am also thrilled to welcome new employees to our team - we are sure that your ideas and drive will take Summit to greater heights in the years to come. While every organisation seeks to catch up with the latest technology, Summit has already captured the future. Our sites are already ready for the rollercoaster that AI, ML, IoT, and 5G will bring. Thus, as we closed last year with two huge partnerships Airtel and BSNL - I anticipate that the coming Financial Year will bring with it more opportunities for collaboration that will ultimately help us in our vision of sharing happiness by enabling connections. The various functions of Summit have, over the past quarter, worked hand in hand to deliver some outstanding results. With our offsites, internal events, and the imminent launch of the annual report, the sense of teamwork and a clear vision are unmistakable. With our consistency and hard work, I am sure we will continue to not only succeed, but to exceed all expectations in the years to come. As we approach our second anniversary this August, we have much to look forward to. I look forward to all of us walking hand-in-hand towards a connected India together.

FROM THE COO’S DESK

SACHIN NAIK Chief Operations Officer, Summit Digitel

With every passing quarter, Summit Digitel cements its place as one of the leading providers of passive telecom infrastructure in the country. This is only possible because of the tremendous efforts put by our hardworking and committed team. At Summit Digitel, we are proud to have crossed the milestone of 152,000 sites. These towers, spread across the length and breadth of the country, embolden us to think even bigger as we dream of a connected India. To realise this dream, a lot of hard work must happen behind the scenes. I am proud to say that the Operations team at Summit has not only stepped up to the task, but has outperformed. For instance, the speed of deployment has not only significantly improved, but has exceeded the customer expectation on the delivery side. On the Network Performance front, our overall network uptime stands at an all-time high. The Operations and IT team also had its offsite recently in Goa, the theme of which was ‘Operational Excellence’. During this time, not only did the team bond in the land of sun and sand, but also discussed the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the strategy for the future. Despite having worked together for almost two years, many of our colleagues met face-to-face for the first time due to the pandemic. I truly believe the offsite went beyond business - the sense of camaraderie and cohesion it brought about will go a long way in us functioning as One Summit in the years to come. Leaping forward towards achieving its goal of Operational Excellence, the Operations Team also announced ‘Project Utkarsh’, which promises to be an exciting initiative. The last quarter has been significant for the telecom regulatory landscape of India. Notably, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) completed 25 years of existence. Summit Digitel actively participated in the silver jubilee celebrations of the regulator. We were also present on the sidelines of the launch of the ‘Gati Shakti Sanchar’ portal by the hon’ble Minister for Telecom and Electronics & IT and Railways, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw. On the IT front, there has been great rigor to automate manual business processes to increase efficiency and productivity. Whether it is the initiation of automation projects like the SDIPL Mobile App and the NFA Portal, or the successful end-to-end BOOST integration with RPPMSL, we are well on track to becoming a digital-first organisation. As a part of our ESG commitments, our three-fold mission of protecting our employees and workers, mitigating impact to the environment and conducting business ethically, will continue to hold the top position in the list of our priorities. We are especially proud to announce our commitment against single-use plastics at all Summit offices from Oct 2022 onwards. I cannot wait to see what the future holds in store for Summit - may bigger, brighter things continue to be the norm and not the exception for all of us!

Customer meets were organised with key stakeholders across many circles to effectuate this. FINANCE

We are glad to announce that we have successfully completed another milestone - the annual Statutory Audit for the financial year 2021-2022. Our joint independent statutory auditors issued a clean audit report on Summit’s financial statements. The new regulatory amendments introduced during the year, such as Schedule III, Companies Auditors, and Record (CARO) and SEBI LODR listing regulations were implemented. The audited financial results were published in the Financial Express on 25 May 2022. It is a proud moment for us as for the first time, the Data InvIT trust’s financial statements – which also received a clean report from the statutory auditors - included the financial statements of the newly acquired company Space Teleinfra Private Ltd. The statutory auditors also issued a clean report on the financial statements of Data InvIT. These results are published and available on our website (www.towerinfratrust.com). The annual audit is a large exercise which involves the entire finance team and other key stakeholders. These excellent results have been possible because each team member worked exceptionally hard, and every other function also ensured smooth collaboration. We are thankful to all other teams for their support in meeting the stipulated timelines of you!

We are also very delighted to mention that Summit has raised INR 10 Bn through issuance of Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) in the domestic markets and listed it on the National Stock Exchange. This is in line with the debt strategy finance and will help Summit in optimizing its interest cost. A greenfield implementation of a new ERP system i.e. SAP S/4 HANA is complex and time consuming. Even after facing several challenges and difficulties in the journey, Finance continues to drive the SAP S/4 HANA Implementation (ERP system). SAP S/4 HANA is expected to streamline processes, and automate, unlock insight and innovation. We have progressed well and achieved project milestones in collaboration with our IT team and IBM (System Integrator). We are pleased to share that we have completed around 90% of system integration testing, a key milestone ahead of the user acceptance testing before go-live. The S/4 HANA SAP system implementation is critical and will provide easy access to financial information. The finance team is working diligently as the next few weeks are critical for timely Go-Live of the new SAP system.

With so many successes under our belt, full annual audits for the last financial year, it was indeed about time for the team to rejuvenate and celebrate. What could have been better than a football and cricket match to unwind, refresh, and get to know the rest of their team better? for the team to unwind and refresh. Finance is a highly motivated and cohesive team and team bonding keeps us going as we prepare ourselves to meet new challenges and scale greater heights together.

OPERATIONS

The Operations team has the daunting task of ensuring smooth functioning, day in and day out. At Summit Digitel, summer preparedness has given us the comfort to position our network with minimal effect, despite severe stress owing to summer impact the heat wave across many parts of the country and power availability crunch due to coal shortage in India. The consistency in the network performance has been maintained by our Operations Team on the overall scale through meticulous planning and prompt alertness. A good deal of work is being completed within SLAs, including timelines for determining the sites feasibilities for sharers. Moreover, the speed of deployment has not only significantly improved, but has even exceeded the customer expectation on the delivery side. The sharer business has substantially increased in the organization, crossing 4K+ count of RFI deliveries till this quarter. It is also noteworthy that all our circles have crossed a half-century milestone. In terms of improving efficiency, we have made significant headway. CapEx was optimized for the outdoor cabinets by standardizing the circuit breaker design and U-space allocation. Additionally, several new initiatives were undertaken along with the Revenue Assurance team and Sales team to plug the revenue leakage gaps. A workshop on SR Parameters was conducted to ensure improvement in understanding and optimize the current feasibility lead time. Focusing on health and safety activities, actions have been taken to develop a digital platform for ‘Permit to Work’ and ‘Site Audits’ through a mobile application for which a cross-functional team is working on a third-party engagement. Development of mobile applications is in the pipeline for the same. Several special projects have also sharpened the safety adherence drive in the field.

IT IT continues to work towards developing new projects and improving existing applications, processes, and relevant systems. At the same time, IT infra enablement and automation at new Regional and Circle offices have been the focus. There has been great rigor to automate manual business processes to increase efficiency and productivity.

AUTOMATION PROJECTS INITIATED The SDIPL Mobile App has been envisaged for field-level HSSE & O&M Processes, helping businesses to digitize the process and improve monitoring, tracking, and Site Compliance activities. The app also helps in improving the Regular and Ad hoc Maintenance Activities. The digitization of Site Audits accompanied by the Planned and Unplanned Site Visits is carried out by the application. HSSE Activities, including PTW (Permission to Work), are handled by the mobile application. In this way, Summit is able to provide innovative solutions in a sustainable way. The NFA (Note for Approval) Portal for Summit Digitel is specifically used for landlord rent increase specific to NFA Applications. Landlord rent increase cases are quite common

BOOST INTEGRATION WITH RPPMSL The BOOST order management application is the backbone of our business, where tenants request orders and all the order tracking from start to end is captured. Here, end-to-end integration of all SR-SP-SO-RFAI-RFS processes with RPPMSL was a key challenge. However, we successfully moved beyond the hurdles that came our way, as we are committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations. Today, end to end Boost Integration with RPPMSL has been taken live and is working perfectly. Around 2478 SRs, 2220+ SPs and 1249 SOs have already been processed through Boost Integration.

with the increase of Sharing on a Site. These require processing via a complete workflow, tracking, and approvals. A portal catering to all these requirements will be developed and delivered to relevant teams like RPPMSL, Site Compliance, Finance, etc. Automation within Compliance Audit Forms and respective reporting are monitored through this portal. Here, 5-6 Audit Forms are to be created with the auto flow of information via master data maintained. This robust management system manages information populated in Forms to be stored in our database and to be used for necessary reporting and dashboarding. Credit Note or Debit Note specific requests are also handled here. Additionally, the portal ensures that budget-specific approvals are managed efficiently.

OPERATIONS & IT CONCLAVE For the first time, the IT Team had face-to-face interactions with PAN India Operations & deployment teams and RBHs which helped us connect with them closely and understand their business challenges and expectations. Rajesh Mittal, Head of Information Technology, took all the participants for the development in technology deployment at Summit. Various IT Projects / Automations were delivered to the participants. They were also made aware of the current focus areas and the latest IT strategies to move forward. The participants were trained to reach excellence in every aspect of their operations.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENABLEMENT – SDIPL OFFICE EXPANSION As a part of SDIPL geographical presence expansion, setting up offices helps Regional and Circle employees to serve customers better. We are glad to mention that IT Infrastructure and automation have been deployed at Bengaluru and Pune offices and made live.

Its salient features are: • Setting up Server Room for Secure connectivity • Internet dual connectivity from Tata & Airtel for load sharing and redundancy • Futuristic cloud-based Software Defined Cisco Meraki Network (WAN/ LAN/ Wi-Fi) • WebEx Video Conferencing devices integrated with Microsoft Teams in Bangalore Office We faced several challenges along the way. However, our commitment and dedication towards our goals helped us in overcoming them. We made timely material delivery possible from Cisco, despite stiff challenges from OEM due to chip shortage in the international market. We closely coordinated with ISPs for internet connectivity due to feasibility constraints. We also successfully configured key IT services within project timelines of office inauguration.
