• PVC (polyvinyl chloride): PVC is a thermoplastic membrane that is available in a variety of thicknesses and with optional reinforcements. Like most single ply systems, this material is highly shapeable and can be conditioned with heat and adhesives. Because they are prone to plasticizer migration, PVC membranes should be monitored.

Single ply roof systems are typically factory fabricated and installed as one layer. They come as a roll and can be loose-laid, adhered, or mechanically attached to the substrate. The laps of these systems are heat or chemically welded, or glued together. Single ply roof systems are lightweight and easy to install, which means lower labor costs.
